Sutherland is a sizeable name at 6-foot-9 who has continued to develop over the past few seasons at United Faith Christian Academy. He plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor, utilizing his length to alter shots and make his presence felt. Look for him to make a strong statement on Sunday at the Top 250 Expo with his ability to play on both ends of the floor.
Cain is an emerging point guard out of the Cary area at Green Level High who continues to show off what he can do in the backcourt. He’ll be looked at as a leader and facilitator at the Top250 Expo given his ability to handle the ball and push the pace with his shooting and quick playmaking ability.
Highlights
Hunter is a name to get to know out of Panther Creek High who’s due to emerge for them heading into his senior season. He’s a small forward prospect who plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor as a rebounder and defender on the floor. Look for him to be a leader at this year’s showcase.
Long is a prospect from the Western region of the state out of Ashbrook High who’s shown off an ability to operate in the backcourt. He’s due to break out into a bigger role heading into his senior season in 2023-24. Look for him to play with a ton of energy as a paint-touching guard who’s capable of shooting the ball.
Highlights
Pedersen is a sharpshooter to keep an eye on out of Enloe High in the Raleigh area. He does a tremendous job of finding ways to get off his shot with room and rhythm and continues to develop as a presence on the defensive end. He’s a presence at 6-foot-4 who should turn heads with his ability to operate on both ends of the floor.
Highlights
Umstead is a strong, physical paint presence out of Westchester Country Day School to keep an eye on at this year’s Top 250 Expo. He should emerge as a two-way presence in their frontcourt this season after spending the past season at T.W. Andrews High. He plays with a ton of physicality and has some versatility to his game with his ability to handle the ball and knock down shots.
Highlights
Leighton is a returning face for Northwood High and should prove himself as quite the sharpshooter at this year’s Top 250 Expo. He put up 7.8 PPG, 3.4 RPG and 1.4 APG on 35 percent shooting from deep in 2022-23. His development should be fun to watch after knocking down 47 3-pointers as a junior.
