We’re in Part 3 of a preview series looking at some of the players registered for the event. Here are some more players that will be in attendance this weekend that college coaches should have their eyes on.
Check out Part 1 and Part 2 below!
Taylor was a varsity ready freshman last year and is ready for a huge sophomore season. He’s steady with the ball and solid as a primary ball handler. Taylor can initiate the offense with a high percentage pass and rarely makes a mistake or turnover. He has range beyond the arc that keeps the defense more than honest.
Downs has made huge strides in the last calendar year. He’s always been an elite high energy perimeter defender. Downs could pressure the ball and force mistake with his relentlessness on that end of the floor. This summer he showed vast improvement offensively. He hit jumpers with 3 point range and was able to create of the bounce. Downs is a terrific 2 way player primed for a big season.

Bartley is a very intriguing talent out of Eaton Rapids. First of all, he can beat most of his opponents with power and strength alone. The young man has a college ready frame right now. Bartley is a very versatile offensive threat that can back down an opponent, get put back buckets, but also stretch the floor with his jumper.

Zickert deserves a look from some coaches this weekend. If you like strength and hard nosed defense out of your lead guard, he’s the guy for you. His defense and rebounding reminds me of former Wolverine Zavier Simpson. Zickert plays a physical brand of D that forces turnovers and frustrates opponents. As far as rebounding, he averaged just shy of 10 boards a game at a PH Circuit event late in the summer.
The best pure athlete in the gym award might go to….. Jayden Brock Jayden Brock 6’5″ | SF Byron Center | 2024 State MI . In all seriousness, he’s an elite athlete that can play and finish above the rim. Brock gets up and down the court in a hurry and is a terror for opponents in the open floor. When he fills a wing on a fat break, watch out. In my opinion, there should be offers extended to Brock tomorrow.
Dirschell was really impressive this summer when I was able to see him on the Prep Hoops Circuit. If a college coach wants a grinder that’s willing to do the dirty work, all while dropping 20 points, this could be your guy. That’s exactly what he was doing this summer. Grinding on D and hitting the floor on the defensive end, then getting buckets on the offensive end.
