[player_tooltip player_id='1509237' first='Carter' last='Basquez'] - Smoky Hill - 2026

Basquez will be among the state's most prolific perimeter shot creators, possessing a refined skill set with the ball. Effective getting to step back jumpers out of wide crossovers, there are few perimeter prospects who have his wide reach and fluidity. Capable of knocking down a variety of threes in a game, opponents will have to stay on him like glue or else he is at risk of contributing 4+ threes per game. Even through tight contests, there is little opponents can do to waver the tall guard. In part due to his notable gravity, Basquez can manipulate his tight handle for drives, often seeking passes to perimeter shooters or downhill scorers. There are few prospects in the state bringing his height, mobility, shooting touch, and willingness as a passer. Basquez brings in the whole package, now it is a matter of adding strength and solidifying his reputation this upcoming season at Smoky Hill.

[player_tooltip player_id='1369810' first='Cole' last='Scherer'] - Valor Christian - 2025

Scherer continues to impress as a versatile perimeter playmaker, effective on or off the ball. Capable of flowing into shots from weak side actions, the guard possesses a quick and compact form that may be leveraged off of movement or from spot-ups. His continued growth in strength and athleticism has made him a bit more dangerous attacking the rim, effective at getting up higher than plenty of backcourt opponents. Defensively, the guard is wiry strong and could very well be a shot blocker over his coming seasons given his above average vertical leap. His continued impact as a floor general for a somewhat new look team will be intriguing.

[player_tooltip player_id='1369793' first='Eli' last='Kim'] - Valor Christian - 2024

Kim impressed through his ability to attack the rim through tight windows. Thank to his tight handle and acute quickness reacting to the defense, the guard was a valuable scoring threat for Valor. This is all on top of the guard's impactful shooting abilities, capable rising up for jumpers under a variety of circumstances. There is no doubt the guard will complement his backcourt partner [player_tooltip player_id='1369810' first='Cole' last='Scherer'], equally valuable as a downhill scorer or perimeter floor spacer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2048129' first='Archie' last='Weatherspoon V'] - Rangeview - 2027

Weatherspoon has lived up to expectations throughout the preseason, bringing a high feel for the game. It is rare to find incoming freshman with his IQ and refined game, capable under so many circumstances. The guard already has three level scoring capabilities, efficient as movement shooter or spot-up threat. While attacking downhill, he does a great job getting into his opponent, drawing contact before taking most shot attempts around the rim. His touch on shot attempts is simply an outlier level, for instance he drew an and-1 off of a turnaround going into a floater. There are just not many prospects in the class who bring his consistency handling pressure and making the defense pay on all three levels, very bright future ahead for the incoming freshman.
