Prep Hoops Florida is taking a deeper dive at the way too early Top 25 teams in the state of Florida, regardless of classification. Next up, We will be headlining the next five teams on our list who are ranked 16 through 20. A lot of new faces are in new places as well this upcoming season.
#16 Belen Jesuit
The Belen Jesuit Wolverines are coming off a 2022-2023 season where they ended it on a 15-game winning streak, including the school’s first state title in school history. The Wolverines will look to replace their backcourt duo between Ryan Cuellar and Javi Rosell who both graduated last season. However, the Wolverines do retain 6-1 junior guard Bryce Fitzgerald who brings the team a lot of energy on both ends of the floor. Another name to keep an eye on will be 5-10 freshman combo guard Orlando Roche who has the makings of being a top-tier prospect in the Class of 2027.
#17 Clearwater Calvary Christian
The Calvary Christian Warriors are coming off their second consecutive 20-win season and are one of the early favorites who could represent Class 3A in Lakeland at the end of the season. The Warriors are led by 6-1 senior guard Daniel MacGregor Daniel MacGregor 5'11" | PG Clearwater Calvary Christian | 2024 State FL (Stetson commit), 6-6 senior forward Ace Taylor Ace Taylor 6'4" | SF Calvary Christian | 2024 State FL and 6-5 sophomore combo guard Ethan Sabec. Another name to keep an eye on this upcoming season will be 6-8 freshman power forward Madden Geiger Madden Geiger 6'9" | SF Calvary Christian | 2027 State FL who could soon start seeking D-1 interest from his size and versatility on the floor.
#18 Miami Palmetto
The Miami Palmetto Panthers reached the regional semifinals last season, finishing with a 25-5 record. The Panthers did lose a couple key pieces from last season as 6-3 senior guard Randy Smith Randy Smith 6'4" | SG Palmetto | 2024 State FL transferred to Columbus and 6-1 senior guard Braylon Burbridge Braylon Burbridge 6'2" | PG Miami Palmetto | 2024 State FL transferred to Mater Lakes Academy. The Panthers will look to turn to 5-9 junior guard Santiago Henriquez Santiago Henriquez 5'8" | PG Palmetto | 2025 State FL who averaged 8.4 points and nearly three steals per game as a sophomore last season.
#19 North Tampa Christian
In the first year of playing in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), the North Tampa Christian Titans check in at No. 19 in the Way Too Early Preseason Rankings. The Titans have added a culprit of talent featuring 6-5 sophomore guard Landyn Colyer Landyn Colyer 6'6" | CG North Tampa Christian Academy | 2025 FL , 6-6 junior forward Brodey Cuffle and 6-9 senior power forward Max Slavik. The Titans could make some noise in Class 2A this season as they will be joined by Sports Leadership & Management, Sagemont, Orlando Christian Prep and Impact Christian Academy as the early favorites.
#20 Tampa Catholic
Despite losing national recruit in 6-6 senior guard Karter Knox Karter Knox 6'6" | SG Tampa Catholic | 2024 #6 Nation GA who is now at Overtime Elite, The Crusaders have reached the Final Four in seven of the last eight seasons. The Crusaders do maintain a good core that features 6-0 junior guard Isaiah Campbell-Finch Isaiah Campbell-Finch 6'1" | PG Tampa Catholic | 2025 State #361 Nation FL and 6-1 senior combo guard Christian Cole Christian Cole 6'0" | CG Tampa Catholic | 2024 FL . The Crusaders will also look to rely on 6-0 junior point guard Colby Cannizzaro Colby Cannizzaro 6'0" | SG Tampa Catholic | 2025 FL who can be an elite playmaker on both ends of the floor. Tampa Catholic can make a lot of noise this season in Class 3A based on their veteran starting lineup.
