The Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at Fishers High School nearly 200 of the states best Class of 2027 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to your high school career. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 1 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.
***With nearly 200 prospects at our event, our scouting staff (of three people) divided up the 20 teams to ensure that we could get evaluations of every player. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. Our staff watched each team they were assigned to for a minimum of one full game. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters as well. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and I will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase!***

Brody Baker Brody Baker 5'11" | SG McCutcheon | 2027 IN
A shifty guard that proved himself as capable of playing either on or off of the ball, this McCutcheon product had a productive showing at Sunday’s Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Baker impressed with his willingness to help rebound from the perimeter despite being just 5’11” and was able to get a couple of putback buckets thanks to his effort. He also was comfortable in transition and showed the ability to attack the basket off of the dribble.

Grayer Cline Grayer Cline 6'0" | SF Frankton | 2027 IN
Cline is a gritty prospect out of Frankton High School that showcased his toughness and motor throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase on Sunday. He is the type of player that can impact the game without scoring as he proved more than willing to hit defensive glass, track down some offensive rebounds, and remain active as a cutter. Those are traits that can often shine through in a showcase setting when others or out to get their own. There is certainly some overall skill to work with there as well.

Kelin Webster Kelin Webster 6'0" | SG Clay | 2027 IN
This 6’0″ guard out of South Bend has a strong, athletic frame and was productive from multiple areas of the floor on Sunday. He used his strength to finish through contact around the basket both at the end of his drives and after crashing the offensive glass. Then, he showed off his perimeter skills by knocking in a catch-and-shoot three-pointer after running to the corner in transition. Webster had a good showing at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and could be a name to remember up in the South Bend area.

A small, 5’7″ guard out of Paoli High School, Sullivan did not let his height keep him from mixing it up amongst the trees inside. One of the first plays he made that caught my eye at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase was actually finishing an offensive rebound putback. Sullivan displayed a consistent motor and the grittiest necessary to be successful as a smaller guard. Those traits will only become more valuable as he physically matures throughout his high school career.

Derrick Cross Jr Derrick Cross Jr 6'2" | PG Bloomington North | 2027 State IN .
Right off the bat on Sunday it was clear that Cross Jr. was one of the best prospects at the event. His strong play led to him being named to our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase Top Performers list as he hit numerous three-pointers in the first game of the afternoon and consistently got into the paint off of the dribble as well. Cross Jr. is so fluid athletically and is very comfortable playing on or off of the ball. He can flat out score the basketball from anywhere on the floor and should see action right away for Bloomington North this winter.

Carter Murans Carter Murans 6'7" | SF Guerin Catholic | 2027 IN
Murans impressed with his athleticism and versatility on both ends of the floor throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase on Sunday. At 6’3″-6’4″ with good length he has a very projectable frame on the wing with a good all-around skill set to go with his physical tools. He was impactful on the defensive end blocking some shots and scored around the basket after attacking closeouts on the offensive end. You can expect that Murans’ best basketball is ahead of him, but he already has a great base to build from.

Camden Moore Camden Moore 6'3" | SG Zionsville | 2027 IN
Moore did a little bit of everything in the action that I saw on Sunday showcasing his ability as a real two-way threat on the perimeter. Offensively, the 6’2″ Zionsville guard finished a nice floater in the paint, had a great off-ball cut that finished with a layup, and knocked in a catch-and-shoot three-point attempt. Defensively, Moore hustled back in transition for an athletic block and routinely stayed in front of the ball on the perimeter. He was one of the more impressive prospects at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.

Day is a bigger wing at 6’2″ with good length and an athletic build that allowed him to produce off of the dribble and play through contact at the basket. He drove it hard consistently and was especially effective when attacking closeouts on the perimeter. The Brownsburg High School product was effective in a variety of ways on the offensive end at Sunday’s Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. One of many talented young prospects coming up for the Bulldogs.

Elias Radtke Elias Radtke 6'2" | SG North Judson | 2027 IN
Radtke is a strong, physical forward that displayed a nice combination of inside and outside scoring ability at Sunday’s Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 6’2″ North Judson High School product impressed with his ability to play off of two feet around the basket. When he drove he would play off of two feet and in the post he played with his feet apart which isn’t something you see a lot from young prospects. Later in the game I watched he also knocked in an open catch-and-shoot three-point shot.
