The PHI Freshman Showcase was over the weekend at Supreme Courts. This is a great chance for incoming freshman in the class of 2027 to get on our radar before their first year of high school basketball. We will have wall to wall coverage of the event. Here is a breakdown of the prospects that stood out on a pair of teams in PHI Freshman Showcase: Scotty B's Team 5 and Team 6 Standouts!

Team 5

[player_tooltip player_id='2125641' first='Jamier' last='Montgomery'] (Warren)

Montgomery was a prospect that caused quite a buzz among our scouts at the event. The 5'10” point guard from Warren has a long and wiry frame that should allow him to continue to grow. Slick ball handler that can change gears and had a big time side step three ball in one of the games we saw. Bright future with him and [player_tooltip player_id='2323571' first='Jaxson' last='Davis'] in the backcourt together for Warren!

[player_tooltip player_id='2125663' first='Madden' last='Fuehrer'] (Rockford Boylan)

This 5'11” Rockford Boylan guard played with a high IQ showing he could really cut off the ball and present himself to passers for easy shots around the hoop especially on out of bounds plays. Active defender and can put it on the deck a little.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125659' first='Kristopher' last='Mporokoso'] (Waubonsie Valley)

Came away very intrigued with this 6'2” wing from Waubonsie Valley. He is a lefty that has a clean looking stroke that he drained from both two and three. Hit a couple of impressive spot up triples along with crisp mid-range pull ups. Smooth athlete in transition that can finish around the rim including moving without the ball to the hoop for scores. Like the upside here!

Team 6

[player_tooltip player_id='2125609' first='Denard' last='Grayson'] (Hyde Park)

This Hyde Park 5'10” point guard plays taller than his height with his lanky frame and plus athleticism. Was quick to the offensive glass with an explosive second jump for a guard. Also proved to be a capable shooter connecting on several from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125596' first='Charles' last='Schlicht'] (Grant)

Grant 5'11” shooting guard always seemed to be around the ball. High-motor guard that was relentless slashing it for and-1s or fouls. Crafty finisher that runs the floor hard, pushes in the open floor off defensive rebounds, and rebounds well for his position.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125656' first='Kaijay' last='Brown'] (Simeon)

Rangy 6'1” southpaw from Simeon that was extremely slick with the ball in his hands. Smooth on straight line takes blowing past defenders with relative ease over and over. Flashed potential as a shooter off the catch and was quick with his hands defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125580' first='Alex' last='Lambe'] (OPRF)

The 5'8” point guard from OPRF is a plus shooter that let it fly making them at a high rate especially off the catch from the corners. Mixes in some crafty finishes as well, but early in the process his shooting is what shined.
