School is getting started across the state and for several of the top college prospects in the Class of 2024, taking care of their recruitment will add to their schedules. A couple of seniors have already made Division I decisions in Summit's [player_tooltip player_id='1110580' first='Pearson' last='Carmichael'] (Boise State) and Wilsonville's [player_tooltip player_id='1110843' first='Kyle' last='Counts'] (St. Thomas-MN), but a whole host of others will be sorting things out in the hopes of being ready to put pen to paper during the early signing period in November. Here's a quick look at what the top players in the class are currently looking at.

[player_tooltip player_id='1052572' first='Terrence' last='Hill'] (2024 Roosevelt)

Back home in Portland after spending the 2022-23 season at Arizona Compass Prep, Hill released his top five schools earlier this month. They are (in alphabetical order): New Mexico, Oregon State, San Francisco, San Jose State, and Utah State. He holds offers from all five and has previously made a visit to Oregon State. It is projected that he will be signing early.

[player_tooltip player_id='1110567' first='Austin' last='Maurer'] (2024 Cascade Christian)

Maurer recently released his top five schools (in alphabetical order): Brigham Young, Grand Canyon, New Mexico, Oregon State, and Washington State. The skilled 7-footer, who has helped lead Cascade Christian to two-straight 3A titles, has scholarship offers from all five schools and will be making official visits to all five campuses before making an anticipated fall commitment for the early signing period.

[player_tooltip player_id='1174265' first='Jaden' last='Steppe'] (2024 Tualatin)

As he prepares to assume the top leadership role on the two-time defending 6A champs Tualatin squad, Steppe has been busy with his recruitment. Holding scholarship offers now in the double digits, the verasatile forward hasn't released any official top school list but he's made a number of campus visits including places like Colorado State, Montana State (unofficial), and San Diego and more trips are likely in the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='1110583' first='Marley' last='Zeller'] (2024 Central Catholic)

No senior may have had as big an off-season in terms of recruitment than Zeller, who now holds at least nine scholarship offers. He's been busy with campus trips, having already unofficially to places like Cal Baptist, Montana, and Pepperdine and he's got official visits lined up to Montana, Pepperdine, and UC Santa Barbara in September. Like the others, the athletic wing is looking at signing early.

[player_tooltip player_id='1110736' first='Utrillo' last='Morris'] (2024 Roosevelt)

After a solid campaign on the EYBL circuit with the NW Rotary Rebels, the jet-quick point guard received his first offer from defending NAIA national champion College of Idaho. The Yotes made an in-home visit recently and the senior is looking at making an official visit to campus in September. He remains open and notes that he continues to hear from a number of other different schools.

[player_tooltip player_id='1113084' first='Quincy' last='Townsend'] (2024 Mountain View)

A foot injury hampered him during club basketball, but the college recruitment for the Cougars lead guard has remained strong. He continues to hold an offer from Southern Oregon and continues to receive interest from Division II schools including Northwest Nazarene and Point Loma Nazarene. Townsend recently took an unofficial visit to Northwest Nazarene and a scholarship offer from the Nighthawks may be pending.

[player_tooltip player_id='1232311' first='Jacey' last='Canalin'] (2024 Wells)

The slippery point guard from Portland had a good year with DENY on the AAU circuit and has seemingly established himself as a solid D-III recruit. The senior has garnered the most attention from the East Coast, having picked up roster spot offers from Rhode Island College and Dean College in Massachusetts. He's planning on making campus visits to both and other schools in the area on an East Coast swing in the near future.

Other seniors that currently hold scholarship/roster spot offers (please let us know if there are any that are missing):
