[player_tooltip player_id='1990353' first='Rue' last='Chapman'] - 6'1 - Southwest Onslow High School

[player_tooltip player_id='1990353' first='Rue' last='Chapman'] is a name that really emerged this past grassroots season with Truth Elite Basketball Club. He's a floor general prospect that knows how to make his presence felt on both ends of the floor. He's an underrated defender and playmaker out of Southwest Onslow High for DII and DIII programs in the region to get eyes on. He averaged 15.5 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 3.4 APG, 2.7 SPG and 1.3 BPG as a sophomore on varsity this past season.

9. [player_tooltip player_id='1361268' first='Nathan' last='Fife'] - 6'0 - Sanderson High School

Fife is a young floor general that continues to turn heads in the class with his presence at the lead guard role. He did wonders for the Sanderson backcourt while posting 20.6 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 4.8 APG and 2.0 SPG on 41 percent shooting from the field. He's a point guard with a high IQ for making things happen when the ball comes his way and does so efficiently. DII and DIII programs in the region would be wise to get eyes on him.

8. [player_tooltip player_id='1165176' first='Marcel' last='Freeman'] - 6'0 - North Johnston High School

Freeman is an explosive floor general with a smooth game in the backcourt at North Johnston High for DI and DII programs to get eyes on this season. He's a dynamic guard given his ability to score at will on all levels while getting others involved and applying pressure defensively. He put up 24.7 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 3.3 SPG and 1.1 APG this past season for the Panthers while really growing in the [program_tooltip program_id='2078500' first='Garner' last='Road'] Basketball Club select backcourt as more than a scoring presence.

7. [player_tooltip player_id='1786681' first='Shamarius' last='Peterkin'] - 6'3 - Mount Tabor High School

[player_tooltip player_id='1786681' first='Shamarius' last='Peterkin'] aka "Snook" is a name that's growing in the 2025 class given the productive summer he had with Big Shots Elite NC on the grassroots stage. He's an active 6-foot-3 floor general that can attack off the bounce and knock down shots in space. He was a key reason for the 26-3 record this past season. He's a two-sport athlete that's quietly growing his stock on the national scene, look for his position to climb soon.

6. [player_tooltip player_id='1410267' first='Chris' last='Rivens'] - 6'3 - Covenant Day School

[player_tooltip player_id='1410267' first='Chris' last='Rivens'] is an underrated point guard prospect to get to know at Covenant Day School. He's a sizeable name at the floor general spot at 6-foot-3 that uses his length well to maneuver off the bounce and make things happen. He produced 11.7 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 2.3 APG and 1.3 SPG as a sophomore in the CDS backcourt. Look for him to grow his stock this season on the NCISAA stage.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='1076337' first='Kamran' last='Prince'] - 6'2 - Trinity Academy Raleigh

Prince is a new face in both the 2025 class as well as the Trinity Academy Raleigh rotation set to do damage at the point guard spot. He's an active two-way presence that plays with a ton of energy and athleticism on the floor at the point guard spot. He led CB Aycock High this past season with 18.8 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 3.6 APG and 1.7 SPG as their leading name. Look for him to do similar with TAR as he looks to boost his stock on the recruiting scene.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='1409584' first='Jacari' last='Brim'] - 6'2 - West Forsyth High School

[player_tooltip player_id='1409584' first='Jacari' last='Brim'] is a name that remains a staple on the PH radar at the point guard spot. He checks in at No. 4 given his prowess for making plays and shooting the ball on the perimeter. He was solid on the 3SSB stage with [program_tooltip program_id='2078500' first='Garner' last='Road'] Basketball Club. He put up 17.0 PPG, 8.3 APG, 6.5 RPG and 2.7 SPG for West Forsyth High as a sophomore. App State and College of Charleston are his most notable offers as he heads into a pivotable junior season.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='1105003' first='Darnerian' last='Gibson'] - 5'9 - Winston-Salem Christian School

Gibson is an underrated point guard prospect out of the 336 area with Winston-Salem Christian School for DI and DII programs in the region to get eyes on. He's a floor general that knows how to control the pace of the game with his playmaking and shotmaking. He'll have a few different weapons at his disposal in the frontcourt as Winston-Salem Christian plays a national schedule this fall/winter.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='1105008' first='Jaylen' last='Claggett'] - 6'3 - Cannon School

Claggett had himself a productive grassroots campaign in the BSA Supreme backcourt as they went unbeaten on the grassroots scene as a top independent squad. He's a prospect that's continued to climb up the radar as a floor general with a solid frame and the ability to operate without the ball in his hands as a shooter. DI and DII programs would be wise to get eyes on him this season. He's due for a strong year in the Cannon School backcourt in 2023-24.

1. [player_tooltip player_id='2127653' first='Eli' last='Ellis'] - 6'1 - Moravian Prep

[player_tooltip player_id='2127653' first='Eli' last='Ellis'] makes his long-awaited return to the PrepHoops stage as the top point guard prospect in the rankings currently with his return of Moravian Prep to the state of North Carolina. He's a MM college coach's dream given what he can do on the hardwood at the lead guard spot. He's an ultra-competitive prospect that's shown he can score in a variety of ways no matter who is put in front of him. Look for him to be a staple on the OTE stage this season.

The Freshman Showcase and Top250 Expo are both right around the corner in the month of September!
