Expert Analysis
Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Gibson has come into his own at the point guard role for Winston-Salem Christian National and remains a target for DII programs in the region to get on their radar. He’s an underrated playmaker as well as an underrated scorer at 5-foot-10 who plays with a gritty edge to his game that’s hard to contain. He’s shown he can knock down shots, defend and make plays for others and keep his team within the flow of the offense as a floor general.

Gibson is an underrecruited floor general to get to know this season with the Winston-Salem Christian National squad. He’s got some talent around him to distribute to and has already shown he can knock down tough shots in the open floor. His ability to defend and set the tone on both ends should stand out this season with his skill set.

Gibson showed he could take command with games for the Carolina Rockets as he led the way for them at the point guard spot. He knocked down shots off the perimeter, was a pest on defense and showed he could get to the paint and make things happen as a playmaker as well. He led the way in their sudden death overtime victory against ZeroExcuses with 27 points, as he took over in a 72-70 victory. He’s another highly-ranked prospect in the 2025 rankings for DII and DIII programs in the region to take a look at over at Winston-Salem Christian School with their Regional squad. As he shows he can get others involved consistently, he’s a lead guard with a bright future ahead of him.

Only standing at about 5’9/5’10, it’s easy to overlook him but don’t be fooled, this young man can flat out play! He has a quick first step, impressive end to end speed, understands how to score over taller players and was clutch for his team down the stretch in multiple games. He would go on to lead the squad to the 17U division championship with a team high of 18 Points and finished the tournament as a top scorer in points per game.

The guy they call “D1” has been putting in those kinds of performances as of late, killing it on the Big Shots circuit and continuing to show why he’s a college player with his intense defense and burst/athleticism. He continues to post big numbers on the grassroots circuits, always looking to attack and beat closeouts, getting downhill to a nice finish or a pull-up jumper. What really separates him though is that defensive intensity, always looking to jump passing lanes and force turnovers. He’s been MVP of multiple Big Shots events so far, and really looking to be a star AAU player. Should be a college target sooner than later.

Gibson is a prospect who’s remained a top point guard prospect to know in the 2025 class in the HoopState. He’s a shifty floor general who can knock down tough shots with ease and controls the pace of the game with his impressive ball-handling and crisp passing. As he continues to develop his ability to keep others involved in the flow of the offense, look for his recruitment to grow with Dub Salem over the next few months.

Gibson is a prototypical smaller guard, exhibiting some lightning-quick speed and change of direction with the ball in his hands while also acting as an on-ball disruptor defensively. He has a varied two way game that makes him ideal to lead with the ball in his hands at the next level. Will turn guys over and pick up easy steals while being able to finish those turnovers in transition either by himself or by feeding his teammates.

Gibson is an electric floor general who lets his play do the talking worth getting eyes on at Winston-Salem Christian School. He hasn’t earned any offers just yet but once coaches get eyes on him and he starts building relationships with college coaches, it’s certainly on the way. He’s a high-level passer who can make shots in a variety of ways with his shiftiness and shot-making ability.

Gibson was another impressive face in the Team 11 rotation at the PH North Carolina Top 250 Expo. He held down the floor general duties with ease, distributing the ball, communicating with his teammates and setting quite the tone with the ability to generate his own offense. He earned the nod as a Gamechanger: Dynamic Guard with his elite playmaking ability before it was all said and done. He’s a 2025 prospect out of Winston-Salem Christian School college coaches need to get eyes on.

Gibson was another impressive lead guard in the 2025 class who turned heads virtually everytime the ball came his way with his ability to make things happen for himself and others on a consistent basis. He was a terror alongside Tye Cain in his squad’s backcourt at the Top 250 Expo, showcasing an ability to pass the ball at a high level and knock down shots inside and out. He blew by defenders handling the ball with ease and showed poise in finishing in traffic or finding his shooters on the wing to make things happen. He’s a name at Winston-Salem Christian School who DI programs need to get eyes on very soon.
