This week, we will be starting with the rising seniors. If you have a player who deserves to be recognized, please send @RossVDG14 on X (Formerly known as Twitter) a direct message.
The 6-8 rising junior power forward is a natural athlete who can score on all three levels, as well as play versatile defense out on the floor. Reins has great length and footwork where he can use his mobility to defend out on the perimeter. Reins uses his size at the front of the rim with a soft touch and great hands. He averaged a near double-double for Jesuit last season as a sophomore. Reins has continued to improve his mid-range game and is shooting from beyond the arc with more confidence.
Highlights
The 6-3 rising junior combo guard has a great feel for the game and displays a high basketball IQ. Roberts has solid athleticism where he brings a consistent mid-range jump shot as well as a quick first step to get to the front of the rim. On the defensive side, Roberts has quick feet and has the ability to stay in front of the opposition where he can force up a tough shot. He is also very active in the passing lanes where he can turn steals into baskets on the offensive end.
Wimbley, a 6-6 rising junior is a multi-positional type prospect who has length and athleticism to display on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end, he has a strong attack for the basket where he punishes the front of the rim as well as a smooth mid-range jump shot. On the defensive end, Wimbley has a ton of quickness to go grab rebounds and can get out into transition where he has a great handle and passing instincts. Wimbley has gained college interest from a few Power 5 programs heading into his junior season.
The 6-7 rising junior has a smooth skillset where he can score on all three levels on the offensive end. Lewis has a great feel for the game and has continued to improve his perimeter shooting from his freshman season to last season. Lewis also has a knack to finish around the rim whether it’s off a put back or as a lob threat. On the defensive end, Lewis recovers exceptionally well and is a solid rebounder who can get out into the open floor with his speed. He is also considered to be an underrated passer who can find open teammates while on the move setting them up for great shots.
The 6-11 rising junior has all the intangibles to become an elite prospect. Thiam is an effective finisher around the rim, solid rebounder and an elite shot blocker. Thiam also has the ability to defend multiple positions with his quick and lateral movement for his size. On the defensive end, he plays with a ton of physicality and very rarely allows the opposition to get a second look at the basket. On the offensive end, Thiam plays a traditional back-to-the-basket and gets most of his points off of put backs or lobs.
