The new school year starts next week as August ends in a couple of days. The rising junior class is set to make their mark on the season, with duos who should have big winters. Here are the 2025 backcourt duos to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411409' first='Omari' last='Moore'] & [player_tooltip player_id='1411410' first='Keith' last='McKnight'], Hudson Catholic

Moore and McKnight are a pair of dynamic guards who should have big 2023-24 seasons. The latter has a quick first step, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the rim. Moore has a good handle to get into the paint, but can also knock down open jumpers on the perimeter. McKnight uses his length to create an impact on the defensive end, while Moore moves well without the ball in his hands. Moore and McKnight are talented guards who should help Hudson Catholic be one of the top teams in the state this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1958321' first='Brandon' last='Lee'] & [player_tooltip player_id='1578536' first='Jaysean' last='Williams'], Patrick School

Lee and Williams are a guard duo to watch as they impact the game in different ways. The former has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Williams has a tight handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and can score the ball inside and out. Lee has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor, while Williams has the ability to play off the ball as well. The Patrick School's duo of Lee and Williams will make noise throughout the season with their ability to score the basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411403' first='Brady' last='Loughlin'] & [player_tooltip player_id='1411408' first='Jordan' last='Ghee'], Don Bosco Prep

Loughlin and Ghee are set for big junior seasons as the Ironmen look to win Non-Public A. The former has a clean shooting stroke and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Ghee attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong and can also make layups through contact. They both move well without the ball in their hands and slide their feet on defense. Loughlin and Ghee are skilled guard prospects who will be ones to watch throughout the 2023-24 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2640117' first='Jayden' last='Myers'] & [player_tooltip player_id='1411630' first='AJ' last='Altobelli'], Union Catholic

Myers and Altobelli will share the ball-handling responsibilities as the Vikings look to repeat as Non-Public A champions. They both have good handles, which they use to beat their defenders and finish around the basket. Myers can also score in the mid-range and is unafraid of drawing contact. Altobelli gets his teammates involved in the halfcourt and uses his instincts on the defensive end to get steals. Myers and Altobelli should make their impact felt throughout the season with their ability to make plays with the ball in their hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411624' first='Peter' last='Mauro'] & [player_tooltip player_id='1775122' first='Bryan' last='Ebeling'], St. Rose

[player_tooltip player_id='1411642' first='Evan' last='Romano'] gives the Purple Roses a trio to watch in the 2025 class as they look to win Non-Public B. Ebeling shoots the ball with confidence from deep and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Mauro has a good handle and finishes nicely around the basket. They are both solid on-ball defenders as they move their feet and get deflections. Mauro and Ebeling have the potential for big junior seasons with their ability to make plays at both ends of the floor.
