Jaylen Martin 6-2 2024 Wyoming Godwin Heights (pictured) Martin had a good weekend for BNB basketball. However it was his Sunday performance that really caught my eye. Put up 23 points in a loss to a good Woo Elite squad out of Oklahoma. Didn’t just get hot from deep. Put up points in a variety of ways. Was a particularly strong driver that was able to finish through contact. Accordingly got to the line a lot. While he is definitely a scorer. Good enough ball handler to play the point if needed. With the graduation of four year starter Jakhary Towns and a new coach. The Godwin program is going through a bit of a transition. Martin has the talent the bridge the gap between his senior class and a good young group led by 2026 Isaiah Guyton Isaiah Guyton 6'6" | PF Godwin Heights | 2026 State MI
Brandon Nesbary 6-4 2024 Wyoming While Martin was putting up perineter fireworks. Nesbary was doing the dirty work down low. Has a thick physical frame and appears to like contact. Gets off the ground quickly for his size. Has a soft touch around the basket. Creates space on the block with broad shoulders and good footwork. Nearly averaged a double double on the weekend. Had 13 points in the aforementioned loss to Woo Elite.
Easton Day Easton Day 6'2" | PG Godwin Heights | 2025 State MI 6-2 2025 Mount Pleasant Day had an excellent spring to place himself on recruiting radars. Kept it going in Chicago. Put up 16 points in a nail biting loss to Milwaukee’s ADP Athletics. In crunch time received the ultimate sign of opponent respect. ADP went full denial on the last few possessions to keep him from getting the ball. I should note that Day did not get a good look in those possessions. However knowing what regular season program he comes from. That might have been a case of a player making the right basketball play. Nevertheless he still has two years to adjust to that type of defensive treatment. I doubt it will be a problem going forward. As Day has such a versatile offensive skill set.
Ben Rodenbaugh Ben Rodenbaugh 6'3" | PG McBain | 2025 State MI 6-4 2025 McBain Day’s scoring partner is a much different player. Where Day is almost surgical in his approach. Rodenbaugh is able to physically overpower most opponents. While he is definitely a perimeter prospect long term. Has a physically advanced frame that allows him to punish defenders on the block. Is creative finisher around the basket. Is also an above the rim athlete. Scored 13 in the loss to ADP Athletics. Plays the point out of necessity for his high school squad. Will probably settle into the two or three spots at the next level. Becoming a reliable outside shooter is next step in his development.
Morgan Sleik Morgan Sleik 6'5" | C Kingsford | 2025 State MI 6-5 Kingsford The last time I was in Chicago I was disappointed to miss this prospect. As he missed the tourney with a concussion. The Upper Peninsula product was present this weekend. Even though the stats didn’t jump off the page. I was impressed with what I saw. Looks bigger that he did last summer. Both in height and frame. Competed hard against an EYBL squad on Saturday. With his team coming out on the winning end. Is in a good developmental environment in both AAU and the regular season. Kingsford has a good 2025 group. With some recent changes in the division. The Flivver could be in for deep March run in the next two years.
