Sleik made a statement with the way that he battled in the semifinals. He scored 11 points and had team bests of 5 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Morgan sets a solid screen and rolls hard to get himself open. Once underneath, he uses his size to his advantage and finishes through contact. If Sliek doesn’t have his own shot, he is selfless and has the vision to make a precise pass out from the post. On the other end, Morgan contests shots around the rim and either gets a hand on or rips down every rebound.

Sleik has so good and so steady all season for a talented Kingsford team. He’s been critical so far in this deep playoff run. Teams just haven’t had an answer for him in the paint. Sleik has controlled the glass on both ends of the floor and his defense in the paint has been a difference maker. It will be fun to see him match up with

Morgan had an amazing game for the Flivvers. He dumped in 15 against one of the best defenders in the UP. Like how aggressive he was around the rim. Able to draw a lot of contact and made it to the FT line for 13 attempts. He is a game-changer in a very electric lineup. Last year the Flivvers were bumped in the D2 quarter-final by a good Flint Powers Catholic. A quarter-final rematch between these two powerhouses would not be a terrible assumption.
Correction on this one: FPC would now come down through district 51, which is QF7. Could be a possible semi-final match up. Good catch, JG.

Recent Carroll University commit. This looks like an excellent fit for Morgan as Carroll graduates 7 seniors this year. Likely be groomed to take on more of a guard/wing role. He should do well with this as we have noticed he does a great job in helping Kingsford’s guards break a press. Morgan suffered a bit of an injury setback this year, but we’ve kept an eye on his progress and he seems to be close to 100%. He has the work ethic to bring himself back to better than before. His conditioning and defense in and around the paint will need to be on point tonight, as Iron Mountain’s Kangas (UW-Oshkosh Commit) is playing some excellent basketball as of late.

Kingsford has a HOST weapons at its disposal and has inside size to boot. I watched Morgan this fall at GNB’s fall leaugue at Gladstone High and he was heads and shoulders above most of the other players. He is tall and has a huge presence in the paint. Their go-to guard,

freshly inked his deal with Lake Superior State University and they have plenty of experienced depth this year. Last year Kingsford was one game shy of making the Breslin; I would say they stand a solid chance of making it there this year.

Playing up north may make it tough to be seen, but we can’t forget about this talented player. He establishes early position under the rim, helped by his sturdy build and strength. Sleik moves well on the block and can get a lot of good looks under the rim. I really like his potential as a floor spacer at the next level.

makes our list as another Kingsford big, who is an excellent well-rounded player–no doubt due to his great coaching tree. Morgan is an absolute beast down on the block and keeps the floors clean every night. He obviously spends a lot of time under the shooting gun, as his soft touch makes him a scoring threat from any distance. Sleik’s work ethic and dedication should check a lot of boxes for college coaches, and he is an excellent ball handler if he makes the transition to SF at the next level. Kingsford made a deep run last year making it all the way to the D2 quarterfinals, losing a close one to Flint Powers Catholic. Returning almost everyone, I would expect another deep run by the Flivvers.
