Over the course of the weekend, I saw countless of players and teams compete with multiple big time performances throughout. Let’s take a look at some of my top performers that I saw at the Prep Hoops Circuit Grit Region Finals.
Highlights
There has arguably not be a more sneaky in-state stock-riser in July than the 5-foot-11 Plainfield guard Eli Ellis Eli Ellis 5'11" | SG Plainfield | 2024 State IN . Do not let his smaller size fool you, this guy is one of the top scorers/shooters in the state and proved it with multiple big time performances over the weekend and the past few weeks for Kyle Guy Elite 2024 Black. Was able to watch a few of his games on Sunday and was real impressed with the scrappiness he plays with and how he creates his own shot. In both the semis and finals, Ellis combined for a total of 57 points and did so with Kyle Guy himself in the gym watching. Has recently gotten offers from Hanover College, Culver Stockton, and Franklin College. Ellis was my MVP of the weekend.
Another player from the Kyle Guy Elite program that impressed me over the weekend was 2025 New Pall shooting guard Keagan Harrison Keagan Harrison 6'2" | SG New Palestine | 2025 IN . Playing for Kyle Guy Elite 2025 Black, Harrison really took on the role as their ‘go to’ guy when they needed a bucket. He displayed a real good motor on both ends of the floor and was doing all the hustle plays needed for them to have a chance to win. Most of his scoring came from strong drives and just figuring out creative ways to score around the rim. Harrison was one of the hardest working players on the floor this weekend.
You can’t do a Top Performers list on the Prep Hoops Grit Circuit and not include Mark Zackery Mark Zackery 6'0" | PG Ben Davis | 2025 State #398 Nation IN . To put it plain and simple, Mark Zackery Mark Zackery 6'0" | PG Ben Davis | 2025 State #398 Nation IN was doing Mark Zackery Mark Zackery 6'0" | PG Ben Davis | 2025 State #398 Nation IN things over the weekend. Zackery is just one of the more dynamic guards you will see in the 2025 in-state class and does such a good job utilizing his elite athletic ability to push the pace and break down the defense. Was also easily the best on-ball defender that I watched over the weekend. College football will most likely be his route, but I am confident to say that the Team Teague 2025 guard could play college basketball at a high level as well.

Another Team Teague 2025 player that just continues to impress is Richmond ‘ last=”] guard Cedric Horton Cedric Horton 6'4" | SG Richmond | 2025 State #321 Nation IN . I have watched Horton a few times this summer and this weekend, I started to notice his overall game looks to be really improving. He shot the three ball a few times and was just flying down the floor like he does so well. His bounce and athletic ability always blow me away and his ability to break down the defense and get to the rim is so impressive. If he is out is able to get out in transition, there is nothing the defense can do to stop him. Horton is one of my favorite players to watch.

I admittedly was not familiar with Danny Kelly before this weekend, but with the few times I watched him I became so impressed. He was one of the more explosive players I watched and was one of the best dunkers in gym most of the time with just highlight dunk after highlight dunk. For his size, his handles were solid enough for him to create on the drive and often looked to be a guy OPS 2025 Black would go to if they needed a bucket. His motor remained high on both ends as well. As far sneaky breakout players in the state, the Bishop Luers forward could be one of them. Small schools should keep a close eye on this guy.

Princeton shooting guard Jace Jenkins was another player that I was not super familiar with but became a fan of the more and more I watched Indiana Ambition 2025. For starters, his smooth shooting ability was what stood out the most and he moved so well off the ball to create looks. He is also a shooting guard that can make plays on the ball too as he showed often times with strong first step on drives that would lead to smooth finishes around the rim. Defensively, he displayed good hands on that end as well. Also had some underrated passes as well. Jenkins has a scoring mindset but is just an overall high IQ guard.
