Brayson Boike Brayson Boike 6'8" | PF Dawson Boyd | 2025 State #326 Nation MN of Dawson-Boyd/ D1 Minnesota (6’6 Forward). I have 6’6 forward listed there but I swear the last time I saw Brayson, the last team photo I saw this summer, and the last video, he looks like he might be bigger than that. And if that is the case we are talking about an active stretch four that will not only have his team in contention for a state title playing all spots, but also a player that will get higher level looks.
Jaleel Donley Jaleel Donley 6'1" | PG Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2025 State MN of Benilde-St. Margaret’s/Howard Pulley (6’2 Guard). One of the most physically gifted if not the most physically gifted player on this list, it all depends on how Donley matures with experience. Because physically he has the tools of outstanding first step burst, bounce to the rim, lateral quicks, burst out of a move, and speed up the floor. Not to mention he has a tall father so you could see Donley grow taller. All the tools are there, now we wait and see how they are applied the next 12 months and if they are applied well the sky is the limit.
Brooks Johnson Brooks Johnson 6'6" | SF Duluth Marshall | 2025 State MN of Hermantown/ Starks Elite (6’5 Forward). Brooks had some monster scoring games this year with Starks Elite putting to use guard level skill in a strong forward’s body. His legs are as strong as anybody and it helps him get off the ground not just with a good lift but power to control his frame going to the cup. Can hit the jumper, be your lead guard, be your scoring wing, or do things around the basket. Versatile player.
Max Lorenson Max Lorenson 6'2" | SG Eden Prairie | 2025 State MN of Eden Prairie/ Minnesota Select (6’2 Guard). Max was outstanding this summer as nobody could keep him in front. It didn’t matter who the player was, if Max was in a Select or EP uniform Max was scoring in every way possible. And it was every game. Honestly I am not even sure the last time Select lost a game (42-5 record) and a big reason was the many ways Lorenson produced.
Anthony Smith Anthony Smith 6'0" | CG Hopkins | 2025 State MN III of Hopkins/ D1 Minnesota (6’0 Guard). The ONLY thing that people will count against Smith as a prospect right now is something he can’t control and that’s the frame he was given. Other than that, we are talking about an incredibly skilled, hard working, constant attacking guard that can playmake in so many ways. There will be teams that get past the 6’0, 155 pound frame and just want his game and I think they will be rewarded when they do. There are high majors that love the way he plays so Anthony, keep being you and good things will come.
JJ Sullivan of Eden Prairie/ D1 Minnesota (6’2 Guard). Shooting. JJ is the shooter in Minnesota I would trust with an open jumper more than anybody. And we have seen the value of shooting, there have been players in Minnesota who I didn’t even think would get a full D2 offer go D1 despite being short. We have seen bigs go way higher than expected, because they can shoot. Sullivan reminds me of a quicker, more ball handling ready Seth Coatta (the special shooter that went to NDSU from Tonka).
Chase Thompson Chase Thompson 6'8" | PF Alexandria | 2025 State #216 Nation MN of Alexandria/ D1 Minnesota (6’8 Forward). With Chase it’s all about projecting what his frame will turn into combined with a confident perimeter shooting touch. Thompson’s brother is a seven footer, his father is tall, and you can see him grow all the time. Take that and combine it with the modern stretch four and Chase has a chance to get to that high major level as he matures because the tough and the fight is there.
Tyler Wagner Tyler Wagner 6'6" | SF Totino Grace | 2025 State #366 Nation MN of Totino-Grace/Howard Pulley (6’6 Forward). Likely the hottest name right now because he’s been scorching hot all summer. He’s made a high percentage of not just threes, but using a dribble or two and scoring actively to score in big percentages too. Throw some range in there and growing to almost or at 6’6 and you have a guy that is about to start getting on the radar of high major teams.
Jalen Wilson Jalen Wilson 6'8" | PF Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2025 State #230 Nation MN of Benilde-St. Margaret’s/Howard Pulley (6’7 Forward). Jalen has an outstanding back to the basket game with a touch over each shoulder plus he’s really going facing in that mid-range area. At the elbow he can hit or put the ball down. By this time next year I can see every mid major team in the area (and all of the Summit) wanting to get him in their line-up plus a few high majors potentially. He was the most productive sophomore in the state last year I would say in terms of the varsity season.
Brady Wooley Brady Wooley 6'9" | C Orono | 2025 State #187 Nation MN of Orono/Howard Pulley (6’9 Big). Brady played his best basketball in June and July with Orono in summer events, with Howard Pulley in July, and at the MBCA Camp. At his size Wooley moves very well and he has a touch. When he plays as hard as he did this summer you see the way he can board actively and move on defense. Add in the touch and the way he runs as a big, Wooley will likely be the most recruitable player at the high level in terms of prospect status, and a big part of that is its hard to find guys at his size who move the way he does.
