The top teams in the Hard Work Region met up for one last battle for gold and bragging rights. The scene was set on July 14th – 16th at some of the most spacious high schools in the twin cities area. There were upsets and blowouts but all in all some of the best players, coaches, and programs shared the floor to prove who was superior. Below i have highlighted some of the “Standout Combo Guards” at The Hard Work Region Finals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2092138' first='Sawyer' last='Durkee'] | All Wisconsin

Durkee is a very versatile player that has grown on me over time. The pass-first minded wing makes winning plays on both ends and his only weakness is passing up his own scoring opportunities. This past showing at Hard Work Finals he not only tallied some big scoring numbers but was extremely effective from range as well as at the basket.

MJ Kloskey | [program_tooltip program_id='2075258' first='ABC' last='Young Lions']

Kloskey has a subtle grit to his game. Quiet as kept he comes up with loud plays when you least expect him to. Big blocks, hard nose rebounds, and strong finishes at the rim are all ways to describe his game. As a streaky shooter if he finds his touch he becomes a really tough cover as he brings bigger players out beyond the three point line.

[player_tooltip player_id='1561936' first='Brandon' last='Harper Jr'] | CBA South

Harper is one of those players that could be plugged into almost any position and compete at a high level. He has an impressive level of awareness and instincts on the floor. He's a coast to coast threat after retrieving boards on the defensive end. His ability to dig and defend in the post really stood out at Hard Work Finals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1561939' first='Ethan' last='Joling'] | All Wisconsin

Joling Is a special talent that was difficult to guard throughout hard work region finals. A taller guard whose ability to facilitate caused double teams to look silly. A selfless guard who is no stranger to making the right play, also came up in big moments as a scorer. Hitting shots on all three levels of the floor, Ethan is a top guard in the state and showed why as his impact won All Wisconsin gold.
