Cali Live/Ultimate Club Chip: 2026-27

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On July 14-16 I attended the last <em>live period</em> for club teams in Vegas at several venues. The inaugural <strong>Sportradar Showdown</strong> at Coronado HS, <strong>Cali Live </strong>at Liberty HS and the <strong>Ultimate Club Championships</strong> held mainly at the Las Vegas Basketball Center and a few other Nevada high schools.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here were some of the freshman-soph standouts I viewed:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1430444' first='Jacob' last='Webber'] Scottsdale Christian Academy (AZ Select 16 UAA)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The sniping wing forward was playing up for the weekend and cashed in. He had a huge performance with nearly 30 points and 7 threes made. Mostly all off the catch from the three point line but created a little for himself including a clutch one down two to seal the victory in the wildest comeback I witnessed all year long. (Down 20-2 and won 73-71). </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1591734' first='TJ' last='Harris'] Paradise Honors (Factory 16)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quick on quick scoring lead guard with speed. He has track like speed in the open court and then will euro his way to the rim. He collects steals and he is off to the races. He can shoot the three, he has the pull-up and he should lead the younger team back into the playoffs. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1496642' first='Izaiyah' last='Romero'] Phhoenix Prep (Colorado Roughriders 17) (Pictured) </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An athletic combo guard is moving into the state this year. He has a really quick first step with a strong upper body to absorb the contact. He is an explosive athlete on the break to throw it down and the lefty can shoot perimeter jumpers from mid to the three point line. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1676630' first='Kristo' last='Jackson'] San Tan Charter (UH Elite 15)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A tough two-way scoring guard loves getting downhill thru contact. He has great body control in the air to score and seems to bounce off of defenders. He is a physical on-ball defender with good lateral quickness. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1839805' first='Aveon' last='Williams'] Casa Grande (UH Elite 15&nbsp;)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The football star is a monster in the paint. He has a man's body already at a young age. He unfortunately turned his ankle and sat down the rest of the half, but his power and natural girth and strength moves players for rebounds and to score in the paint. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2027</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1986796' first='Peyton' last='Lubash'] San Tan Charter (UH Elite 15)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The incoming freshman had a good showing per usual. He has deep volleyball line range that seems to be normal now and shoots it with no conscience. His quickness with the ball allows him to gain the separation and then he will fire away. He also made some unreal passes and is not afraid to rebound despite his size. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
