On Wednesday, Dec 10th I attended the match-up of 4A ALA-Gilbert North Eagles hosting the 4A Prescott Badgers. Both teams will be fighting to make the 4A playoffs all year long

I checked out all three levels with Freshman, JV and Varsity.

Here were the standouts on the night

Freshman Game (57-53 ALA-Gilbert North won)

[player_tooltip player_id='3196944' first='Eli' last='Hoover'] Prescott

A scoring combo guard will score it many ways with blow by layups with a nice first step, euro steps, threes with good shooting stroke and offensive rebound put backs. He will collect steals and lay it in and scored around 25 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='3196780' first='Dale' last='Owens'] ALA Gilbert-North

A post player who scores it solely with offensive rebound put backs and layups. He will rebound and block shots well in his area and runs decently. He is still learning the game but has the obvious size that you can't teach. He scored 6 points with many rebounds and block shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='3196996' first='Jusiah' last='Phillips'] ALA Gilbert-Noth

An undersized combo guard is wired to score. He is quick in the passing lanes to collect steals and will fill it up. He scores with quick pull-ups and the lefty will fall way from his defender. He will hit the three off the catch or pull and he is very crafty in the lane. He scored 15 points.

Junior Varsity Game (56-35 Prescott won)

[player_tooltip player_id='3196756' first='Bobby' last='Molnar'] Prescott

A long and leaner combo guard who can read the court as a good passer. He has one of the prettier strokes in the program with mid-range jumpers off the dribble and catch and shoot threes with volleyball line range. He will jab step and rise up and he can fall away off of his defender. He also has a sneaky burst to the rim using either hand. He scored close to 20 points. He plays some on varsity.

[player_tooltip player_id='2552794' first='Parker' last='Bowman'] Prescott

A pure point guard who is a live dribble passer and moves the ball well with extra passes like you should. He will handle the heavy ball pressure and will advance pass it often. He changes speeds well to get downhill and collects steals.

Varsity Game (56-53 ALA-Gilbert North won)

[player_tooltip player_id='1750761' first='Brandt' last='Lewis'] ALA Gilbert-North

A breakout performance from Lewis. He was injured last year and is looking to make some noise this year. He grew a little and scores it more efficiently with mid-range jumpers, the lefty can rip thru, fall away from his defender and he is a plus out of area rebounder to score with put backs. He scored around 15 points with 6+ rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2325957' first='Tanner' last='Morris'] ALA Gilbert-North

A tough combo wing forward had an efficient scoring night. He shoots it comfortably from mid-range, he loves using the floater game, he smartly cuts off the ball and will score with bursts to the rim and offensive rebound put backs. He scored 16 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2325954' first='Isaac' last='Massey'] ALA Gilbert-North

A two-sport standout is a pure athlete who has a different burst the most. The football standout will score it with his speed to the basket and he can knock down the open three off the catch. He rebounds well in his area and sees the game well. He is very quick on the ball defensively with his next level lateral quickness. He scored around 10 points with multiple assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='3197230' first='Grant' last='Brimhall'] ALA Gilbert-North

A wing forward who moves the ball and plays within the flow of the offense. He is the teams three point specialist with deep range past the stripe and a quicker release. He has one of those shooting strokes that look good on every attempt. He scored 9 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='3196917' first='Jack' last='Golleher'] Prescott

A newcomer for me is the heart and soul of the team. He rebounds the ball well and plays with a motor to dive on the floor for loose balls and will score. He has a nice three point stroke off the catch with a quicker release, he will score with floaters and get on the glass. He is a good passer and plays aggressively. He scored 16+ points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2689898' first='Caden' last='Lozen'] Prescott

A bigger wing forward with advanced passing skills. He will score with cuts off the ball, and-1's in the lane with longer strides, floaters and he has a quick drop step move he will use. He plays off of two-feet and will collect steals with his length and had one nasty block off the glass. He scored 11 points with multiple steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2689901' first='Drew' last='Jolley'] Prescott

The man in the middle is long and lean. He is a very quick leaper to gobble up rebounds in his area with his length and size and will block shots as he tracks the ball and times it. The lefty has a good looking hoot shot where he can score it over other bigs and he has a soft touch at the free throw line He had 8 rebounds, 4 points and 2 blocks.

On Wednesday, Dec 10th I attended the match-up of 4A ALA-Gilbert North Eagles hosting the 4A Prescott Badgers. Both teams will be fighting to make the 4A playoffs all year long
