With the summer travel season now complete, Prep Hoops Wisconsin takes a closer look at the top five available point guards in the state, including updates on their recruitments...

No. 1 [player_tooltip player_id='1142142' first='Jaquan' last='Johnson'] (Pius XI/[program_tooltip program_id='2076218' first='Wisconsin' last='Playground Club'])

Johnson has offers from Bradley, Grambling State, and Kennesaw State. The dynamic floor general led Pius XI to an 18-9 record and a sectional berth last season. Johnson averaged 27 points and six assists per game. One of the most dangerous players in the state with the ball in his hands, Johnson can beat you as a scorer or a facilitator. Doesn't matter the competition level, Johnson brings it every time he steps on that floor and wants to compete.

No. 2 [player_tooltip player_id='1258392' first='Joey' last='LaChapell'] (Appleton East/[program_tooltip program_id='2076033' first='Wisconsin' last='Playmakers'])

LaChapell is coming off a fantastic spring and summer. This stems from a junior season in which he posted 17 points and six assists per game for Appleton East. A speedy, high-IQ floor general who can make shots, get into high percentage areas, and is a plus finisher at the rim despite being 5-foot-11, LaChapell knows how to run and elevate a team. UW-Parkside, Concordia St. Paul, Hillsdale, Michigan Tech, and Northern State are some of the schools linked to LaChapell right now.

No. 3 [player_tooltip player_id='1206235' first='Termarion' last='Brumby'] (Racine Case)

Brumby has been pretty under-recruited to this point and only getting some nibbles. Most of his collegiate interest is coming through football. A strong, shifty guard that can get downhill, move defenders with his body, and really gets after it on the defensive end, Brumby had one of the better junior seasons people weren't talking about, going for 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists per game for a Case squad that was in rebuilding mode.

No. 4 [player_tooltip player_id='1144596' first='Pierce' last='Arenz'] (Kiel/[program_tooltip program_id='2076027' first='Wisconsin' last='Blizzard'])

St. Norbert's, Hamline, and Ripon are tracking Arenz the hardest per his AAU coach. Arenz missed the spring due to injury, but everyone knows what he can do. The 5-foot-10 lead guard is a jet in the open floor and knows where all four of his teammates are at all times. An unselfish prospect who trades good shots for great ones, Arenz thrives when he can get two feet in the paint, draw defenders, and find the open man. Also a knockdown 3-point shooter, Arenz averaged 19 points, five assists, and four rebounds per game for a 21-5 Kiel squad last season.

No. 5 [player_tooltip player_id='1852437' first='Eric' last='Kenesie'] (Kenosha St. Joseph/[program_tooltip program_id='2078835' first='Wisconsin' last='Swing'])

Kenesie is receiving mostly Division 3 interest at this time. He does have a football scholarship offer from Division 1 Valparaiso. Kenesie was way under the radar until setting state tournament scoring records in March. Leading Kenosha St. Joseph to the Division 4 state title game, Kenesie averaged 23 points and six assists per game. A heady, playmaking guard who can score it from all three levels, but is surprisingly unselfish even when he's in a zone, Kenesie has a deep bag of tricks and sort of an old school game where he just doesn't get sped up. /
