Continue ReadingThe 2024 class is starting to wind down their KHSAA basketball careers. AAU is over for most of the rising Seniors and will be over for all of them by the end of the month. Several stars have started to commit and more will be coming soon. Let’s take a look at the top 10 combo guards in the class in the latest rankings update. This does not include the top 10 players in the class as they have been highlighted in another article.
Max is no longer one of the biggest sleepers in the state as he’s earned 5 D1 offers since April. A sniper from range, Green is a microwave scorer who can put up 7-9 points in a hurry when he’s feeling it. Green has to be one of the most skilled players in the class. He’s an excellent passer at 6’6.
Smith is another player whose stock has taken off in recent months as he’s earned several offers from NAIA and D2 schools. Taveon is a proven scorer and facilitator who is going to be even better once he gets into a college weight room and gets better at absorbing contact and finishing at the rim.
A true sleeper in the class, not many know about Kyler because he’s in Harlan but McClendon has all the tools to make an impact at the next level. Cumberlands became the first school to offer him during the AAU season but don’t be surprised if others follow suit before signing day in the spring.
Whitaker has really boosted his stock as one of the best 17u players on the Prep Hoops Circuit this spring and summer and his stock is trending way up heading into his Senior season. A possible 12th region player of the year, Indred is a versatile scorer and capable passer that will make some college look very smart when he signs.

Riley is one of the best in the state at catch and shoot and catch, shot fake, drive offense. Brown is capable of getting to the rim or shooting 40%+ from three off catch and shoot opportunities. His individual numbers dipped a little after transferring to Washington County but I still think he’ll be a college player when all is said and done.
