Obviously with this being the first one, there will be a lot of changes moving forward as players grow, develop and emerge over the next few years. The 48 player prospect rankings are just a starting point, and we’re excited to continue to monitor and learn new names moving forward.
Here’s a look at part two of the point and combo guard rankings in the 2026 class.
14) Phenix Card Phenix Card 6'0" | CG Hayfield | 2026 State VA | 5’11” PG | Hayfield (#33 Overall)
While Card was behind a number of upperclassmen on the back-to-back state champion Hawks, he did show major upside when he got in and looks like the future of this Hayfield program. He has great speed with a quick first step and is a blur in transition, he’s a good playmaker that has good vision and passing ability and he can score the ball well from multiple levels.
13) Jordan Hunter Jordan Hunter 6'1" | PG Paul VI | 2026 State VA | 6’1” PG | Paul VI (#28 Overall)
Hunter is another player that was behind a lot of upperclassmen on one of the best teams in the country, but there’s no doubt he can play as it’s a prerequisite for attending PVI at this point. He’s a shifty guard who can handle pressure and break down defenders in isolation, he is a very good on ball defender with the ability to guard the length of the floor and he can run the show as a distributor and a scorer when he needs to be.
12) Matt Burkhart Matt Burkhart 6'3" | PG Union Grove | 2026 State VA | 6’3” PG | Rockbridge County (#27 Overall)
Not many know about Burkhart who moved from upstate NY to Rockbirdge County this past year, but he was one of the best freshman in the 540 showing his ability to run a team and be a go-to scoring threat as well. At 6’3” he already has good size for his position and uses that to shoot and pass over smaller guards, he creates space off the bounce and can make shots from deep and in the midrange and he’s skilled as a ball handler and creator as well.
11) Trey Beamer Trey Beamer 6'2" | PG Carlisle | 2026 State VA | 6’1” PG | Carlisle (#26 Overall)
Beamer had a big time freshman year at Carlisle breaking the VISAA scoring record for freshmen and was one of the top players in all of VISAA DIV. The 6’1” guard from Martinsville is a talented shot maker with effortless range and he can get hot quickly from deep, he gets downhill well and is a good finisher around the rim and he seems to have that “it” factor as a dynamic guard who can take over games when he needs to.
10) Khaliq Carson Khaliq Carson 6'0" | PG Bishop Ireton | 2026 State VA | 5’10” PG | Bishop Ireton (#25 Overall)
Carson is part of a talented young Ireton team that will make waves in the WCAC over the next few years, especially with Carson and his backcourt mate Silas Devonish Silas Devonish 5'9" | PG Bishop Ireton | 2026 State VA . Carson is tone setter on both ends of the floor as he pressures the basketball defensively and can handle pressure offensively, he touches the paint and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and he picks his spots and can score it when he needs to.
9) Will Davis Will Davis 5'10" | CG Meridican | 2026 State VA | 5’10” CG | Meridian (#23 Overall)
Davis is a two sport star who also is a talented lacrosse player, but he had a fantastic freshman season on the hardwood and is one of the most skilled guards in Nova. The 5’10” combo is a confident and talented shot maker who can knock it down consistently from deep off the catch, he can get to spots in the midrange off the bounce where he shoots the pull-up well and he’s a good playmaker for others too.
8) Chris Morrison Chris Morrison 6'0" | PG West Potomac | 2026 State VA | 5’10” PG | West Potomac (#22 Overall)
Morrison is another two sport star who also shines on the football field, but he wasted no time making his presence known in the Nova public schools as a top notch PG who gets it done on both ends of the floor. He’s an active defender who jumps passing lanes and pressures the basketball, he is quick off the bounce with the ability to get downhill and finish or make plays for others and he can make shots from deep and the midrange too.
7) Carmelo Swinson Carmelo Swinson 6'2" | CG Norcom | 2026 State VA | 6’2” CG | Norcom (#17 Overall)
Swinson has been a known commodity in the 757 since his middle school days and he’s one of the most talented guards you’ll come across as part of a talented group of young guards in the area. He’s a big guard with surprising shift off the bounce, he creates space effortlessly and can make tough shots from all over the court and he can get downhill and plays well through traffic. As he continues to get his body right he has all the tools that translate as he gets more athletic.
6) Tyrease Hunter Tyrease Hunter 6'3" | CG Roselle Catholic | 2026 State NJ | 5’11” CG | Hopewell (#14 Overall)
Hunter is emerging as one of the best young talents in the Richmond area and despite being on a very talented Hopewell team with tons of upperclassmen, he was still a guy they had to have on the floor and was very productive. So far this spring with Team Loaded NC he’s put up big numbers on a consistent basis showing his total package as a scorer, it’s just a matter of if he grows or not. He’s a talented scorer who can create off the bounce and get downhill where he can finish over bigger defenders, he’s a knock down shooter from deep and when he gets it going he can capitalize as a playmaker when the defense rotates to help.
