Kole is so fun to watch and plays with no fear whatsoever. The UMD commit found success breaking down defenders picking up full court and really impressed me with his ability to get his teammates involved with some bullet passes inside for easy layups. Hanson needed to be accounted for at all times, pulling up from well beyond the three-point line, including a game-winner versus Edina.
Highlights
Jackson continues to prove why he is the number one player in Minnesota on a weekly basis. He looked really good getting downhill and attacking smaller opponents to convert some tough contested finishes. He was also getting catch-and-shoot threes off in a flash, making it almost impossible for defenders to get a decent contest. McAndrew also shined running in transition for some full speed finishes in the open floor.

Isaac has proven to be one of the top 2026 point guard prospects in the state and fits very well into the Wayzata offensive scheme. He was automatic shooting off the dribble in the mid-range and also connected with some threes off the catch. Olmstead has vision and ball handling skills well beyond his years and used them to work in the pick-and-roll and set opponents up for good looks.
Kyle’s full skill set was on display on Saturday and was doing it all to lead his team to success. He used his strong 6’9” frame to go to work inside, finishing through traffic or finding a teammate if a double team came down. He also looked comfortable creating off the dribble, either getting a bucket himself or working to get an even better shot for teammates. Jorgensen holds his lone division one offer from St. Thomas and showed out at their team camp.
Josiah really stood out to me with his lightning quick change of direction, which he used to blow right by defenders on his way to the basket. He showed off a variety of ways he could get inside and looked comfortable finishing through traffic with either hand. Coleman is so unpredictable with his shiftiness and will work as the main ball handler for Edina again this season.
Drew is a winning player and I really like how he works into his role on this Wayzata roster. He was able to out-muscle opponents for contested rebounds and loose balls, also impressing me with his ability to get downhill and finish right through traffic. He could do this with either hand, creating opportunities off the dribble or making back cuts for easy layups. He never forced anything and was a huge reason the Trojans had a good look on just about every possession.
Highlights
Max impressed me once again with his blend of scoring and facilitating at the point guard spot, as well as his ability to play at different speeds when the ball was in his hands. He is extremely unpredictable and can make a quick burst to the basket leaving his defender in the dust. He has a deep bag of finishes he can go to at the cup, being able to hang in the air to avoid his shot being blocked or altered.
Highlights
Daniel was going to work down low on Saturday, going to a variety of post moves to free enough space for a hook shot or layup. The 6’8” incoming junior was taking advantage of size advantages over opponents and was a beast rebounding on both sides of the ball. Molhoek can also stretch the floor, looking confident shooting off the catch. He has had a productive spring/summer season with Minnesota Select.
Highlights
Ben is another player who knows their role on this Wayzata team and plays it perfectly. He is a reliable ball handler and looked very comfortable when faced with pressure. He seems to always make the correct decisions with the ball, creating transition opportunities with long passes or making an extra pass in the half court for an open look. Shaffer can make an impact as a scorer as well, being able to attack the basket and hit open looks from the perimeter.

Ty has sky-high potential as a prospect and I am excited to see how he will fit into this Eden Prairie team as a freshman. On Saturday, he looked confident creating his own shot as I saw him knock down a pull-up mid-range jumper, shooting right over the extended contest of an opponent. He may be asked to play more off the ball this year with the stacked Eagle back court, but I have seen what he can do with the ball in his hands during the AAU season.
