After a loaded weekend of games, I look back at some of the better players that didn't get as much of a spotlight as they should have. In this article, we look back at the underclassmen players who are up next in the state of Illinois.

Jake Nosek (Metea Valley) 2025
Biggest eye-opener of the weekend. 6'8 stretch forward who can shoot and pass as well as any guard. Nosek has very fluid movement and can score from all three levels. A solid rim protector and rebounder Jake had one of the better weekends that made him a huge stock riser.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105267' first='Dillon' last='Fountain'] (Perspectives Leadership) 2025
Fountain is a highly skilled guard that has moves to break guys down in one on one situations but Is also very good at off-ball screens too. Dillon has college range on his shot and moves the ball pretty well for a point guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105376' first='Colin' last='Stack'] (Benet) 2026
Colin is a mobile big man with a huge upside to his game. At 6'10 he's already a dependable rebounder and rim protector. He is a very good pick/pop or pick/roll guy which is a skill that will continue to get better with time. Already holds a Division 1 offer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105390' first='Jayden' last='Wright'] (Benet) 2026
Wright shot the ball well in the game I watched. He made 4 threes in a tough contest. Jayden has good ball skills and is a proven catch-and-shoot prospect. An underrated part of Jayden's game is how well he guards the ball on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1435692' first='Rykan' last='Woo'] (Whitney Young) 2026
I have been a huge fan of Woo since I watched him at Pangos. He is a hardworking lead guard that can shoot the ball at a high rate. Rykan is a high-IQ player that does what's needed to win games. In a loaded backcourt at Whitney Young Woo always finds a way to leave some type of imprint of his game on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552475' first='Marquis' last='Clark'] (Whitney Young) 2026
Some coaches raved about how skilled and smooth Clark is. He is a guard who can play on and off the ball. Marquis can score in microwave fashion whether it's catch and shoot or on the move Clark finds a way to put the ball in the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2044507' first='Brent' last='Taylor'] (Lincoln Way East) 2025
One of the better performances of the weekend. Brent is a three-level scoring athlete. When he plays nothing looks forced. He has a strong handle on the ball and can make plays in the half-court as well on fastbreaks. Huge stock riser in my eyes after this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105360' first='Lincoln' last='Williams'] (Kankakee) 2026
Williams is a 6'4 athlete who has feel for playing above the rim. I look forward to seeing more from Williams.

[player_tooltip player_id='1774274' first='Jayden' last='Tyler'] (Homewood Flossmoor) 2025
I got my first look at Tyler this weekend and I was impressed, long wing span with quick twitch motor skills. A terrific athlete on offense with deep range on his shot. I was able to identify what made coaches offer him immediately. Will become a fun player to cover going forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1295579' first='Jax' last='Abalos'] (Batavia) 2025
In the game I watched Abalos scored all of his points in the second half. Jax is a 6'6 forward who shoots the ball with great consistency from behind the arc. A sneaky part of his game is how athletic he is when attacking from the wing. Should be on most D1 schools' prospect lists.

Rae'Qwon Rogers (Bowen) 2025
Rogers is a high-scoring guard who has extended range on his shot. When driving he has an extra gear that helps him blow past defenders and soar above rim protectors. Rae'Qwon plays with good motor and competes on both ends of the court. Had some pretty good scoring games this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766465' first='Ikee' last='Brooks'] (Hansberry) 2025
Brooks is another under-the-radar college prospect that had really good numbers this past weekend. Ikee is a super quick guard that has a good mid-range shot and can finish in various ways around the rim. His ability to pass the ball and hit guys right on the spot can't be overlooked. Brooks is still figuring things out and will be a for sure scholarship player at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2539984' first='Aaron' last='McClure'] (Christ The King) 2025
McClure is an explosive athlete with a well-built college frame who plays in the paint as a post traditional player. He shows solid footwork and likes to play through contact. On defense, he gobbles up boards in bunches and is also quick off his feet to block shots in the same fashion. Aaron is a throwback forward that will have many college suitors over the next two years.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105209' first='Reid' last='Olson'] (Niles North) 2025
Olson is one of the better shooters in the state that has done a good job at playing on the ball more and showcasing his passing skills. Reid has textbook form on his shot and is able to score from a catch-and-shoot situation or on the move. A very intriguing player to watch for the next two years.

After a loaded weekend of games, I look back at some of the better players that didn't get as much of a spotlight as they should have. In this article, we look back at the underclassmen players who are up next in the state of Illinois.

Marquis Clark Marquis Clark Marquis Clark 6'1" | PG Whitney Young | 2026 State #137 Nation IL (Whitney Young) 2026

Jax Abalos Jax Abalos Jax Abalos 6'8" | SF Batavia | 2025 State IL (Batavia) 2025
In the game I watched Abalos scored all of his points in the second half. Jax is a 6'6 forward who shoots the ball with great consistency from behind the arc. A sneaky part of his game is how athletic he is when attacking from the wing. Should be on most D1 schools' prospect lists.
