We had the chance to check out the action and get a closer look at how a number of players have been progressing with their games this club season. Here’s a look at some of the top performers from the Class of 2025 (Part 1 of 2):
Brayden Barron Brayden Barron 6'6" | SF Barlow | 2025 State OR , Dynasty (2025 Barlow) – Barron has been a breakout performer this spring. He’s long and rangy and has been showing off his vertical leap by throwing down two-handed slams or blocking shots at the top of the square of the backboard. More than just an athlete, he has a nice touch on his shot and is improving his ball-handling. After barely playing any on varsity last season, that will certainly change this upcoming season.
Cole Hammack Cole Hammack 5'10" | PG North Marion | 2025 State OR , Oregon Prospects (2025 North Marion) – The top scorer in 4A last season, Hammack has continued his tear into club ball. He’s shown a great balance of sinking daggers from deep and getting to the hoop where he uses his quick first step to get by defenders and then either his strength or varied layup package to finish around the hoop. All this and he has played unselfishly, making good decisions in transition to find open teammates.
Quincy Scott Quincy Scott 6'5" | SG Grant | 2025 State OR , Players Only (2025 Grant) – Scott, who transfers over to Grant from Central Catholic, is one of those players that can simply blend into any setting. He hits the boards hard, runs the floor, makes the extra pass, finishes in transition, and plays stick-em defense. His 6-foot-5 size, athleticism, and motor has been critical to Players Only’s success playing up an age group this club season.
Owen Nathan Owen Nathan 6'2" | CG Roosevelt | 2025 State OR , Oregon Prospects (2025 Roosevelt) – Nathan is another one of those guys who pretty much does it all on the court. He plays almost with a reckless abandon, yet it is very much controlled in that it results in him simply making plays on both ends of the floor. Offensively he hits shots and defensively, he can either steal the basketball or contest and block shots directly or on help defense.
Alonzo Hoff Alonzo Hoff 6'6" | SF Southridge | 2025 State OR , Oregon Prospects (2025 Southridge) – Now up to 6-foot-6, Hoff has shown more confidence in his offensive game during club ball. The lefty is extremely tough going to his strong hand, using his length to finish over defenders, while also able to shoot it well from the perimeter making him a dual threat. He’s been solid getting boards and defending in the interior as well.
Gavin Gross Gavin Gross 6'6" | SF West Linn | 2025 State OR , Oregon Premier (2025 Jesuit) – A threat both inside and out with a smooth shooting stroke and ball skills, Gross has lots of versatility on the offensive end but where he really flashes a lot of potential is as a defender. He has the length and athleticism to guard multiple positions and as he continues to build strength, can be even more effective against bigger guys underneath.
