The East Coast Invitational begins Thursday, with lots of competition expected across the four day event. With 32 teams separated into four pools, A-D, I’m ready to break down the groups and some of the top performers from each. Read further for our predicted standings and top players from Pools A and B.
Pool A (Listed In Predicted Order of Finish)
Richmond County
South Mecklenburg
First Flight
Goldsboro
Laney
White Oak
Southeast Raleigh
Liberty Christian
Players to Monitor
Paul McNeil – One of the most gifted scorers in his class. Unique blend of size and shotmaking that should slot him in as a dynamic two guard at the D1 level for 4 years.
Peter Moye Peter Moye 6'3" | SG South Mecklenburg | 2024 State NC – Another scorer that can get going quickly from anywhere on the floor. Very physical and will punish defenders if they are not able to match him.
Josh Helms Josh Helms 6'0" | CG Laney | 2024 State NC – Looking to shoot it when it comes to being a scorer, but also someone who is a leader and floor general for his group. Seems to make the right play consistently and be a rallying point for his teammates.
Amari Latham Amari Latham 6'5" | PF Goldsboro | 2024 State NC – Tweener forward with excellent ball skills for his size and position. Outstanding floor runner and defensive presence that gets his squad juiced up quickly.
Mason Dobie Mason Dobie 6'2" | SG First Flight | 2025 State NC – Undersized guard who can really shoot the cover off the ball. Can make plays as a point guard but really thrives off getting open looks from deep.
Jullien Cole Jullien Cole 6'4" | SF Shiloh | 2024 State GA – True 2 Guard at the next level with his size, and also an impressive shot creator off the bounce. Someone who is going to get you a bucket when you need him in big situations.
Pool B (Predicted Order of Finish in Parentheses)
Harrells Christian
Kinston
West Caldwell
Trask
Apex Friendship
Hopewell
Ashley
East Duplin
Players to Monitor
Antonio McKoy Antonio McKoy 6'4" | SF Harrells Christian | 2026 State NC – One of two twins, super tough and high motor guy. Just plays really hard with an offensive game that continues to develop. Improving by the weekend.
Coen Locklear Coen Locklear 6'0" | PG Ashley | 2024 State NC – Lockdown defender that is incredibly good both on and off the ball guarding 1-3. Very good glue guy that just makes winning plays on both ends, but really defensively.
DaShaun McKoy DaShaun McKoy 6'2" | SF Harrells Christian | 2026 State NC – Similar to his brother, tough, athletic, high motor. Rebounds the ball extremely well and gets his teammates involved.
Kamari Cooke Kamari Cooke 6'0" | CG Hopewell | 2025 State NC – A true point guard who should see much more of the ball in his hands this year. Good straight line driver and forces the issue at the rim.
Myron McKoy Myron McKoy 5'8" | PG Heide Trask | 2024 State NC – Small guard who is shifty laterally and is a pretty complete point guard.
Jordan Patterson Jordan Patterson 6'3" | CG West Caldwell | 2025 State NC – Bouncy wing that can really attack the cup. Still developing his outside game but has a lot of room to grow and has gotten much better recently.
