There were many standouts throughout the event, and plenty of offers were thrown around as well. Here’s a look at part one of some of the 2025 standouts from the Virginia schools in attendance.
Chance Mallory Chance Mallory 5'10" | PG St. Anne's Belfield | 2025 State #73 Nation VA | 5’8” PG | STAB
STAB had themselves quite a weekend going 3-1 and beating some of the best teams in the event, and Mallory was a huge reason why as he was perhaps the best player at the event with his performance. The 5’8” guard defies the narrative as he can dominate across the board, he scores the ball extremely well from all three levels, he has effortless range out to 30 feet, he is always around the ball and he has great vision and playmaking ability too. He finished the event averaging 27 points on 50% shooting from the field and 47.5% from deep, 9.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.5 steals and 4.8 made threes per game.
Austin Williford Austin Williford 6'4" | CG Saint Anne’s Belfield | 2025 State #137 Nation VA | 6’4” WF | STAB
Williford is perhaps the most under recruited player in the 2025 class in VA, as he’s shown a ton of potential and continues to get better every time we see him play and he looks like he has all the makings of a high level collegiate prospect. He’s a long and athletic wing who can play above the rim effortlessly, he shines defensively with his ability to guard the other team’s best perimeter scorer, he can make shots from multiple levels and he’s becoming a better ball handler and shot creator too. He finished the event averaging 16 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals per game.
Gabe D’Alessandro | 6’3” WG | STAB
D’Alessandro is the x-factor for this STAB group because when he plays well they play well, and he played well this weekend as their third option who stepped up big against the best teams they played. The 6’3” wing is strong and plays well through contact, he has a great feel for the game and makes the right play while making others better, he can get hot and knock down shots in bunches from multiple levels and he competes on both ends of the floor. He finished the event averaging 13.3 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game.
Chance Perkins | 6’1” WG | Highland School
Perkins sometimes gets forgotten about on this Highland team, but that works out well in his favor as he’s a microwave scorer that makes shots at a high clip and will kill you if you do forget about him. He checks into the game hot as he doesn’t need to warm it up to get it going, he has effortless range and can drill it from well beyond the arc, he can put it on the deck and gets good elevation to make shots in the midrange and he can make plays for others when he gets it going. He finished the event averaging 19 points on 57% shooting and 3.5 assists per game.
Julian Rivera Julian Rivera 6'1" | PG Highland | 2025 State VA | 6’1” PG | Highland School
Rivera is the type of player that you may not realize his importance to a team as he doesn’t really look the part, but all he does is make winning plays on both ends. He controls the game with his ability to control the tempo and handle pressure, he gets them into sets and makes plays for others, he picks his spots and scores it efficiently from multiple levels and he is a lock down defender with great instincts on the ball and in help. He finished the event averaging 11 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
Nate Ament Nate Ament 6'8" | SF Highland | 2025 State #12 Nation VA | 6’8” F | Highland School
All eyes have been on Ament this summer and it was no different at session two where he bounced back from an average first session to show why he’s considered a top player in the country in his class. The 6’8” forward is the epitome of a modern day forward with his ball skills on the perimeter and his ability to make shots at his size, he handles in transition and can rise up over defenders, his length allows him to rebound and protect the rim and he may even still be growing. He finished the event averaging 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.
