We dive into the positional rankings. We move over to the power forwards and centers for the rising junior class.
Here are the top-7 PF/C’s in the 2025 class: (This group keeps improving, as bigs tend to always take the longest to develop.)
Jaion Pitt Jaion Pitt 6'7" | PF Canyon International Academy | 2025 State #90 Nation AZ Dream City Christian
One of the top rising juniors on the West Coast. He dominated 16 and 17U EYBL during stretches. He scores it mainly inside with a quick rip thru, dribble drives, advanced post footwork and high flying dunks on the break. He rebounds everything and has started to shoot the ball from deep, making him a well-rounded weapon.
Alejandro Aviles Alejandro Aviles 6'8" | C Dream City Christian | 2025 State #141 Nation AZ Dream City Christian
A cerebral post player with elite hands and feel for the game. He is money from the high post and catches anything you throw near him in the paint. He has college footwork he utilizes and passes the ball better than some guards. Once he gains position in the trenches, he is scoring.
Andrew Bhesania Andrew Bhesania 6'8" | PF Boulder Creek | 2025 State #348 Nation AZ Boulder Creek
A true face-up power forward rattled triples in all Spring. He made a name for himself on the UAA 16 division and picked up some offers along the way,. He can handle it fairly well and makes plays for others off a live dribble. He rebounds well and looks a little better every few months.
Jaylon Johnson Jaylon Johnson 6'8" | C Phhoenix Prep | 2025 State AZ Undecided
The wildcard of the group is definitely Jaylon. He missed a full year of basketball and will most likely not play until fall ball. He is still a huge kid with big mitts and feet. His freshman year he battled anyone inside to score, rebounded the ball, blocked shots and advanced post defense for his age in 6A, (when they were still in 6A). He informed me that he will be transferring and is looking for the right fit in Arizona.
EJ Sommers EJ Sommers 6'9" | C Phhoenix Prep | 2025 State AZ Phhoenix Prep
A defensive minded post player with very good hands and quick feet. He moves well laterally on the perimeter and will bang and board with bigger post players than him. He can shoot it from the short corner three and works inside with advanced post footwork mostly under the rim.
James Steward James Steward 6'8" | PF Marcos De Niza | 2025 State AZ Marcos de Niza
An athletic power forward seems to fly above the rim with big dunks and blocks shots at a good rate. He gobbles up rebounds and his offense is slowly coming around near the basket with better footwork and improving hands and feet.
Zane Gaul Zane Gaul 6'10" | C Prescott | 2025 State AZ Prescott
A physical post player with college level size for position and length. He is moving better and better each season it seems and is steadily polishing up his skills. He scores inside with hook shots and many put backs plus will step out to the three point line and shoot it. He rebounds and plays almost with a mean streak.
