Running with Wisconsin PGC UAA 15u, LaTrevion made plays in a variety of ways. At 6’4 he has a physical frame and explosive athleticism that allows him to play much bigger than his size. Had a lot of success posting up and using his strength to score right at the rim, but he also showed an impressive face up game. If he faced up and his man sagged off, Fenderson could elevate for the mid-range jumper. If you played him tight though he had one play where he jabbed hard, attacked, and then took flight for a one handed dunk. Really hard working rebounder and defender who has the size and athleticism to defend wings or taller posts at the high school level.

Tamarrein is like a Swiss Army Knife for Wisconsin Playmakers. He impacts the game in so many ways, starting with his gritty defensive approach that sees him guard just about every spot on the floor for his team. As a wing he’s also a really good shot blocker both chasing guys down in transition and making plays from the help-side. Offensively he excels at getting into the paint and dumping it off to pick up assists, and can also spot guys sprinting ahead in transition to pick up assists that way. When he gets going, Henderson is such a dangerous isolation scorer because of how he can create space off the dribble at 6’4-6’5. Can create separation and elevate for a pull-up jumper, or blow right by his man and extend to finish at the rim.

Tim put together some really strong performances for a balanced Chapman Academy team that was rolling over the weekend. He’s one of the best pure shooters in the state, and it showed as he was knocking down three after three while hardly needing to put the ball on the floor. Just seems to know where to move to off the ball to put himself in the right spots for his teammates to kick it out to him. On the defensive end he took a handful of charges across the games I saw, as he puts himself in the right spots off the ball and isn’t afraid to take a hit.
Amari had moments of dominance for Wisconsin PGC 16u throughout the weekend. He was a walking highlight using his length and athleticism to create steals and then get out in transition for some dunks. At 6’6+ he played a lot of point guard for his team, handling it under pressure with ease, and showing some creative ability by getting two feet in the paint and making plays as a passer. Has some three level scoring ability but wasn’t just settling for jumpers, and instead was driving to the rim hard and scoring through contact off of two feet repeatedly. Allen had the type of dominant weekend you’d expect from a nationally ranked level prospect.
All Wisconsin came up short against a loaded Wisconsin PGC team on Sunday, but Ethan was fighting to keep his team in it. A bit of a point-forward, at 6’5 he shoulders a lot of the ball handling duties for his team. At this stage you don’t see a lot of guys Ethan’s size able to handle it under pressure like he can in order to get his team into their offense. Joling is dangerous when he gets a path to the rim because of his ability to play off two feet inside and make plays as a finisher of facilitator. Has a soft floater to score with touch over the top and to avoid picking up charges by just barreling his way to the rim.

Walter would come off the bench for Wisconsin Playmakers and was a game changer for his team. His hustle immediately stands out, as it was no coincidence he was always in the right place at the right time to make plays. Whether he was chasing down loose balls or winning extra chances for his team on the offensive glass, Walter was making those hustle plays that were the difference between winning and losing in tight games. Berns also has a nose for the rim with the ability to finish in a variety of ways at 6’4. Can stop short for a floater while also using his athleticism to explode off the floor and finish right at the rim. Walter can put up big numbers with his high school team, but running with a talented Playmakers team he makes smart reads and doesn’t force his offense too much. That unselfishness helped his team go 4-0 on the weekend.

Logan brought a ton of toughness to the floor and wasn’t backing down against a loaded Wisconsin PGC team. Defensively he spent a lot of the game defending taller wings/forwards, and was just a gritty on-ball defender getting right up under them to make it difficult to put the ball on the floor. Made plays off the ball as well stepping in and taking a couple of hard hits to draw charges in the paint. On the offensive end he was fearless attacking the basket, and keeps his chin at the rim allowing him to finish consistently even while taking a bump or two.
