In the first half just about any touch he got in the paint resulted in a dunk, showcasing his ability to get off the floor quickly at 6'10. Also showed some solid footwork and touch allowing him to go to work with his back-to-the-basket on the block. Defensively he's quick off the floor and at 6'10 this makes him a major rim protector. Don't let his size fool you, Davis thrives in the paint, and with his shifty handle he's able to get into the lane just about any time he wants to. Time after time he would freeze his man with a quick hesitation, and then crossover to blow by him and get two feet into the paint. His pace and feel for the game is very advanced, and once in the lane this allowed him to read the defense and make smart decisions with the ball. He moved his feet on the ball better than anyone else I saw last night, and was a constant pest to opposing guards with his ball pressure. Even when picking up full-court he could sit deep in a stance and move his feet to cut off his man. In the half-court he fights to get over screens and is always getting in the mix for loose balls. He has a strong frame at 6'3, and it allowed him to play both in the paint and on the wing. On the block he had some crafty footwork and then the ability to power through contact allowing him to score around the basket. Could also step out on the perimeter and either knock down the outside jumper or beat his man off the dribble. At 6'4 he has some size but really exceled on the perimeter due to his deep shooting range and quick release. He constantly had opposing forwards chasing him around, and with his quick release if he got just a little bit of space he was able to get off a shot. Caught fire for a few minutes towards the end of the first half. Also made great use of shot/pass fakes to get defenders lunging, and then attacking the space. You don't see a lot of guards with his type of length that have as quick of a first step as Chan. He was effortlessly blowing by his initial defender to get into the paint and make plays. There were times where he forced his shot too much once he got swallowed up by multiple defenders in the paint, so improving making reads will be key in his development. With his release it's almost impossible to get a hand on his shot, allowing him to pull-up and knock down jumpers with a hand right in his face. The unsigned senior started off with 8 quick points, knocking down a pair of threes and then hitting a tough short jumper. Has a tight handle to create his own shot, and then can also use his frame to back defenders into deep position and finish with touch around the basket.
