Chan Malith
About Chan
Expert Analysis
Jack Pfeiffer | Prep Hoops Scout
Chan showed out on Tuesday night, coming off of a great senior season at Rochester John Marshall where he averaged 25 points per game. The 6’4” guard looked phenomenal when running the point for his team. He was able to make one move to get downhill to convert on a tough finish or kick out to a teammate on the perimeter for an open look. He also picked up some impressive blocks on the defensive end, being able to time up opponents shots well. Malith also found success getting to his spots in the mid-range, using his size and length to pull up right over a defender. Chan is an extremely versatile prospect and can make a difference at the next level in a multitude of different roles.

Chan is an active 6’4 wing with a high motor that has improved his percentages behind the arc and from mid-range. He’s an outstanding rebounding guard, he’s excellent in transition, and does a wonderful job of getting to his balance to release in space against contesting defenders. An all around player that averages 23 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals in Minnesota big school basketball.

Chan Malith Chan Malith 6'4" | SG Rochester JM | 2024 State MN has limitless confidence and explosive scoring ability to match. Against a Top 10 ranked Farmington team, Chan wasn’t going to go down without a fight. He put together a huge second half to bring his team back from a double-digit deficit and ended up forcing overtime. Farmington tried to defend him with bigger wings, but Chan was just too explosive off the dribble and it allowed him to get to the rim or create separation for a jumper. Really got going in the second half with some deep threes and tough turn-around jumpers off the bounce. Outside of scoring I liked the way he attacked rebounds at their high point, and from there he was able to push the tempo to try to get his team a numbers advantage moving forward. Scored 34 points in his final high school game.
