The 2026 Palmetto State Class gives early indications of a class with plenty of talent from top to bottom in the years to come. Let’s take a look here in Part II right here on your source for basketball coverage in the Palmetto State.
Williams Goes Off – McGee Plays Big:
Mikey Williams Jr Mikey Williams Jr 5'11" | PG Greer | 2026 State SC has always come to play it seems with Prep Hoops in the building. Williams Jr and his FBC Future Kings teammates did just that this weekend. Mikey has a knack for scoring the ball and getting to the cup. Williams Jr draws plenty of contact along the way and seems to live on the foul line it seems. Mikey really likes the rock in his hands at all times. He sees the floor very well when he’s not looking to score the ball.
Zion McGee is a back to the back post player down low. He won’t overwhelm you with athleticism. Zion was sporting a nose guard today. McGee is best suited in a half-court style of play while playing on contact. Zion attends Legacy Early College where he plays on the regional team.
Upward Stars Columbia Trio Plays Strong:
Daylin Haltiwanger Daylin Haltiwanger 6'2" | CG Hammond | 2026 State SC , Talan Staley Talan Staley 5'9" | PG Ridge View | 2026 State SC and Justus Bell Justus Bell 6'4" | SF Dutch Fork | 2026 State SC all brought their best to the table today.
Haltiwanger a left-handed wing player was very active all game long slashing to the cup or stopping and popping at times from the perimeter. Daylin plays very active in the passing lanes while picking up several deflections along the way. Haltiwanger attends Blythewood HS.
Staley is a coach’s son and a pass first point guard. Talan sets the tone from out top and never seems to rush the issue on the floor. He plays with a good mindset and always looks to be under control.
Bell who attends Dutch Fork HS brings great versatility to the floor. Justus was able to finish around the basket with a soft touch at times today. He connected on a few 15-foot jump shots when he wasn’t chasing down a rebound. Bell can defend bigger post players down low when needed.
Bruce Looks to be Back in Mix:
Prep Hoops first saw Khristian Bruce Khristian Bruce 5'8" | PG Wilson | 2026 State SC at South Florence HS a few years back. Bruce was with West Florence HS last summer at the SCBCA Camp here in Rock Hill. This season Bruce looks to be back in the fold once again.
Khristian a small guard who can really pack a scoring punch at times. Bruce who runs with Upward Stars SE 3SSB Pee Dee 15U scored the ball at will at times today. He was able to touch the paint whenever he wanted, or he simply set up his teammates along the way.
Wiersma Plays Well:
Lucas Wiersma Lucas Wiersma 6'7" | PF T.L. Hanna | 2026 State SC provided a good spark today for the Upward Stars SE 3SSB Southeast 3SSB 2026 when he played. Wiersma who attends T.L. Hanna HS (Anderson) came off the bench and scored 11 points in a win over Team Charlotte UAA 2026. Lucas played very aggressive and assertive from the wing today. He looks to be a bit of a deceptive athlete at times. Wiersma brought good energy to the floor when he was in the game for the Red & Blue.
