Bonfas has some nice potential moving forward. Physically, the frame of a high level prospect is there. As just a sophomore he stands at 6’5, has a strong build, and a quick burst off the floor. He was making plays on the defensive end using his length to get up in passing lanes and pick up steals, showing good instincts to read passes and pick them off. Has the quickness to move with smaller wings as well. Offensively he also showed some flashes, able to attack gaps, elevate off two feet, and then hang in the air to finish in a variety of ways. Didn’t take a ton of jumpers but showed a really smooth release when he did.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Brooks led the event in dunks, as he was putting on a show any time he stepped on the floor. He’s a threat from three, and as defenders start to realize that, Brooks does a great job of using a quick head-fake and then blowing by a defender as they looked to closeout on his shot. This allowed him to consistently beat defenders along the baseline and open up some explosive finishes or dump off passes to one of his forwards in the paint. For a 6’5 wing with a solid frame, he changes directions pretty quickly on the ball allowing him to weave in and out of defenders to work his way to the basket. Can stop on two feet for a soft floater over the top, but isn’t afraid to explode to the basket and look to put a defender in the rim.

Brevin had some impressive flashes running with Powerhouse MN over the weekend. He has a long and lanky 6’4 frame with very fluid athleticism. Against Starks Elite he got the game started off by sprinting up the middle of the floor and then elevating for a dunk over the top of a defender in transition. He can create a little off the dribble, and has acrobatic finishing ability around the basket as he’s able to hang in the air and use his length to extend and finish from a variety of angles. Was an 11 ppg scorer as a junior at North St. Paul and looks like he could put together a strong senior season next winter.

Nolan is a bit of an under-the-radar prospect in the 2025 class with some nice potential moving forward. He has a strong frame at 6’4 with solid all-around athleticism. Against Minnesota Rise he had a nice stretch where he hit a three, cut hard to the basket for a lay-up, hit a turnaround jumper from around 10 feet, and pulled in a defensive rebound in traffic. That couple minute stretch really showcased his versatile game as he’s someone who can use his frame to bang inside, while also having the shooting touch to stretch the floor out on the perimeter.
Will Brands Will Brands 6’4″ | PF Totino-Grace | 2024 State MN was a big reason why Minnesota Rush was keeping it tight with Sanford Sports until the buzzer. At 6’3 he spent a lot of time defending a high major committed 7 footer, and Will had a lot of success using his physicality to limit his man’s touches. Utilized his strong frame to keep him off of the block and keep him off-balanced so that even if he was able to catch it was difficult for him to get into a shot. Offensively Will is excellent running the break because of his vision to see up the floor and pass the ball ahead. In the half-court he stretched the floor from three and utilized off-ball cuts to open up good looks at the rim.

Colton got off to a cold start against Real Phenom, but towards the end of the first half he just exploded for 13 points in just a few minutes to pull his team back into the game. At 6’5 with a strong frame, he has the ability to power his way to the basket. But most impressive in the game I watched was the buttery smooth shot from three and ability to catch on the move and quickly get squared up to get off his shot. You don’t see a lot of guys his size with that type of footwork, let alone the ability to knock down 3’s at the rate Colton does. Has been a consistent performer every time I’ve watched him this spring.
If Kyan gets a little bit of space to attack the basket, there’s not much opposing defenders can do. He’s that strong and that physical that just about any time he gets near the basket he’s able to bulldoze his way into deep position and elevate to finish. Even against a Sanford Sports team with a massive frontcourt, Kyan showed no fear attacking the basket resulting in a handful of tough finishes through contact to keep his team in the game. Tough as nails wing who doesn’t back down from competition.
