Austin Maurer Austin Maurer 7'0" | C Cascade Christian | 2024 State #209 Nation OR | C | Cascade Christian – #1
Despite missing a bit of the second half of the season due to injury, Maurer put together a dominant junior campaign where he helped lead Cascade Christian to a repeat 3A championship. From what we saw of him live at the state tournament, he’s built more confidence and overall toughness in his post game, yet continues to be a tremendous threat from three-point range. Defensively, not many – especially at the 3A level – are going to be able to get past his shot-blocking presence inside. The only player in the class with offers from Pac-12 schools, he remains the pick for #1 in the class.
Pearson Carmichael Pearson Carmichael 6'6" | SF Summit | 2024 State #270 Nation OR | SG | Summit – #2
Carmichael moves up the list one notch to #2 after posting a junior season that met the unreal expectations that were placed on him at the beginning of the season. The 6-foot-6 swingman embraced them all, averaged eye-popping 22.3 points and 8.9 rebounds during the year, and led Summit to the state championship game for the second year in a row. Add to the fact he’s already committed to Boise State, the versatile rising senior more than deserved the rating increase.
Jaden Steppe Jaden Steppe 6'8" | SF Tualatin | 2024 State #289 Nation OR | SF | Tualatin – #3
Steppe may have “dropped” a spot to #3 but the truth of the matter is he’s essentially 2a in the rankings. The 6-foot-7 rising senior did nothing but live up to the pressure of having a bigger role placed upon his shoulders as he because one of the most dangerous second options in the state at 19.6 points and 7.6 rebounds a contest. Steppe was near unstoppable inside with his combination of size and skill but was extremely effective operating from the perimeter as well as shooting the basketball and getting to the cup. Another future D-I player, he should garner even more interest this spring/summer on the EYBL.
Utrillo Morris Utrillo Morris 5'8" | PG Roosevelt | 2024 State OR | PG | Roosevelt – #4
Morris is another guy that missed part of the season due to injury, but it was clear when he was healthy he was near impossible to handle. The 5-foot-8 point guard is as slippery and quick as they come in the entire Pacific Northwest, and when his shot was clicking he was an absolute terror to opposing defenses. With the transfer of Terrence Hill, it was Morris’ show to run and he did it to the tune of 15.8 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.2 steals and like Steppe, will get plenty of recruiting eyes on him this spring and summer on the EYBL.
Dylan Douangphrachanh Dylan Douangphrachanh 6'3" | SG Benson | 2024 State OR | SG | Benson – #5
Staying at #5 in the rankings in this update is Douangphrachanh, who continued to diversify his game at Benson as a junior. In addition to remaining one of the top three-point shooters in 6A – he hit just under 43 percent from deep – the 6-foot-3 guard was aggressive getting to the basket where he was able to either finish at the rim or draw fouls and get to the free throw line. His averages of 18.2 points and 4.8 rebounds should increase next season with the graduation of Kavon Bradford Kavon Bradford 6'2" | CG Benson | 2023 State OR and this spring/summer will be key for him to catch the eyes of college coaches playing club balll.
