Not going to lie. A field this deep might warrant a third and fourth team later in the week.
First Team
Tanner Teschendorf Tanner Teschendorf 6'2" | PG Mount Vernon (Fortville) | 2025 State IN 6-1 Mount Vernon Fortville (IN) The point guard for a Kyle Guy Elite squad that only dropped one game on the weekend. Has good size for the position at 6-1. Allows him to see and pass over defenders. However was more than just a ball distributor on the weekend. I was impressed with his composure and leadership in a come from behind opening victory against The Process (MI). Averaged 16 points on the weekend. Hit that number in KGE’s only loss to Full Package Black. Bounced back in big way to post 19 points in the preceding game to close out the event on Sunday.
Trey Dillard Trey Dillard 6'5" | PF Fort Wayne Wayne | 2025 State IN 6-5 Fort Wayne Wayne (IN) Dillard’s OPS Black squad is off to an outstanding start on the Prep Hoops Circuit. A perfect 8-0 after two events. This versatile point guard has been one of the main catalysts behind this start. While it a true team effort with talent up and down roster. Dillard came up big in his squads toughest games. Scoring 16 points in an 11 point victory over M14 National. To give you an idea of how well OPS Black is playing. That was their closet contest of the weekend. Leading scorer with 15 points in a victory over a Texas based Next Level squad that featured lot of athleticism. Dillard scored in double figures in all four games. Heading into his hometown Run N Slam event in May with a lot of momentum. I look forward to catching more of this prospect there.
Kason Mayes 6-1 Detroit Old Redford (MI) Mayes’ Michigan Hurricanes squad was perfect on the weekend. Most of Mayes’ more lauded teammates are 2026 prospects playing up. Consequently has kind of gotten lost in the shuffle a bit. However in the las two weekends has really announced himself as a player to watch in the 2025 class. This weekend earned his points mostly on the defensive end. Used active hands and instincts to accumulate a bevy of steals and defections. Turned defense into offense quickly and was explosive in transition. This explosiveness is the one big change in Mayes’ development from his sophomore to now upcoming junior campaign. Is able to finish easily above the rim. Had a few two handed dunks against Midwest Basketball Club. Also showed the ability to run point at a key juncture of Sunday’s win against fellow Mitten squad Macomb County Cougars. This was after Carlos Medlock Jr went out with a knee injury.
Tommy Clark Tommy Clark 6'3" | SG Kings | 2025 State OH 6-2 Kings (OH) Athletic and bouncy lead guard to lead All H.E.A.R.T Basketball club to undefeated record on the weekend. Beyond the perfect record. His squad was throughly dominant in all four victories. Clark showed an extreme level of bounce. Finished a designed lob with an emphatic two handed flush. You don’t often see designed lobs for 6-2 guards. Flashy but tight handle allowed to get to his spots easily. Was a good live dribble passer. Excellent outside shooter with a nice easy release. Should form a nice duo in both the regular and grassroots seasons with Nate Lyman who also played well this weekend.
Evan Salvador 5-10 Mundelein (IL) The Mundelein marksman got hot from beyond the arc to hand Kyle Guy Elite their only loss on the weekend. Left handed release was quick and difficult to block. Didn’t need much room to get it off. Keeping this speed and efficiency on his release will be key. As he is not very big. Hit five threes in the aforementioned Saturday victory. They were not empty calories. Every one of them was needed as the close Saturday contest was my game of the weekend.
Second Team
Luke Bricker 6-1 Warsaw (IN) With Trey Dillard Trey Dillard 6'5" | PF Fort Wayne Wayne | 2025 State IN running the point. Bricker was the shooting star for OPS Black. Came alive on Sunday from beyond the arc. Kicked things off with 18 points against Gateway Basketball Club (MO). Wrapped things up by posting 19 points against Harwood Midwest (MI). The Michigan based Hardwood squad was coming in with some momentum after defeating a good Hopson Elite unit. Bricker shut things down quickly with three deep threes.
Tyler Davis Tyler Davis 6'5" | PF Mount Vernon Fortville | 2025 State IN 6-6 Mount Vernon Fortville (IN) Second Marauder to make the cut. Where Teschendorf handled the perimeter. Davis controlled the paint for Kyle Guy Elite. Lanky and wiry frame belied the strength that he played with. Wasn’t going to get pushed out of the paint. This combined with his reach made him particularly adept on the glass. Felt like every rebound was his on the weekend. Had 12 points and nine rebounds in the previously mentioned loss to Full Package Black. Posted a double of 12 and 12 to close out the weekend.
Sean Wesolek Sean Wesolek 6'6" | PF Bay City John Glenn | 2025 State MI 6-6 Bay City John Glenn (MI) Battling Davis toe-to-toe in the Friday night. Was this tri-city big man. Where Davis is long and slender. Wesolek has a wider frame. Unlike lot of young bigs. Appears to enjoy contact and plays with aggression. Deceptively athletic. Not a ground bound post. Surprised me with an explosive no power dribble two handed dunk in traffic. Good passer for his size. Especially out of the high post.
Paxton Crane 6-5 Fort Wayne Carroll (IN) We can’t let the guys on OPS Black have all the ink. Crane was the big man for OPS’ Blue squad. Kicked off the event with a bang Friday night. Scored 18 points in a victory over INB Elite. But he wasn’t just a one game wonder. Scored 20 points on Saturday in a victory over M14 (IL). The size is what initially catches your attention. Has a wide strong frame but with good ball skills. Within those 20 points Saturday were multiple threes that you would not expect at first glance. A skilled player worth keeping an eye on.
Noah Hess Noah Hess 6'0" | CG Jonathan Alder | 2025 State OH 6-0 Jonathan Alder (OH) The Ohio point guard led Midwest Basketball Club Central 2025 Sayre/Maurer to a perfect record on the weekend. Hess saved his best for last. Scored 16 and 17 points respectively in two victories on Sunday. Both games were close against good squads were every point mattered. Notched five threes in the process.
