Crim finished off an incredible senior season for Fairfield helping his team win the conference title while also taking home player of the year honors. Crim finished the year averaging 19.6 PPG and shooting just over 50% from the field. A tough point guard, Crim defends on ball and can attack the rim and finish through contact. A score first point guard, Crim finished with 2.5 assists to 2.4 turnovers a game, something he’ll look to improve on at the next level. Crim has a few scholarship offers right now and is deciding on a school, Fairfield’s all-time leading scorer should make whatever college program he chooses better.
Another GMC standout, Adorno is an elite shooter from the point guard position. Finishing his senior season scoring 14 PPG on 40% from 3-point range and a 2.7 to 1.8 A/TO ratio, Adorno checks a lot of boxes that college coaches look for in a point guard. A bit undersized, Adorno is going to have to defend bigger and stronger players at the next level. His pesky defense did allow him to average 1.8 steals per game, showing his ability to compete on that end of the floor.
A state champion, Will Scott Will Scott 6’1″ | PG Archbishop Hoban | 2023 State OH saved the best basketball of his career for a playoff push that ended with the ultimate prize. I was impressed with Scott’s ability to put pressure on the defense with his dribble drive game and the defense of Hoban as a team was the main reason why they won the state championship. Scott is an athletic guard who makes an impact on both ends of the court and when the jumper is falling, he can have a huge impact on a game. I expect more programs to jump in on the recruitment of Scott once some priority transfers make their decisions.
Parks is a committed prospect as he’s headed to Mercyhurst next season. A tough as nails guard, Parks really competes on the defensive end and can also make shots from the outside, shooting 40% from 3 on 16 PPG. Mercyhurst has a history of coming to Ohio and grabbing prospects that fit what they want to do and Parks could be the next Ohio native to make an impact in their program.
Another guard who really impressed me on the defensive end of the court during his team’s playoff run was Hummel. A big time athlete at both ends, Hummell moves his feet exceptionally well and has the frame to hold up against bigger guards. Another inconsistent shot-maker, when Hummell has it going from the outside, he is tough to stop. One of the top guards in the OCC this season, I was a big fan of watching Hummell’s high school career.
