Bennett already possesses great size for his age as he stands at 6-foot-4, but also stuck out to me with his variety of skills on the offensive side of the ball. He looked comfortable stepping out and taking shots from behind the arc having smooth mechanics. He was also a factor in the pick & roll, making timely cuts to the basket where teammate guards would find him for an easy finish. He looked really good running in transition too, getting passed the defense to receive a feed from a teammate. I really like the potential that Cizadlo has as a future prospect.
Ty looks extremely mature for his age when he is on the floor. He has an all-around skillset and is another guy who has great size for his age. He used that to play in the interior, finishing through traffic and grabbing rebounds on both sides of the ball. He moves very well with or without the ball being in his hands and can create shots for himself off the dribble. He looked really confident and comfortable in transition scenarios as well. I was impressed with the way he can slow down the game, especially for only being an 8th grader.
The toughness and effort of Anthony caught my eye in the game I was able to see on Saturday. He handled the duties as the main ball handler for Wisconsin Academy and impressed me doing a lot of different things on the floor. He had no issues attacking the basket and was extremely hard to stop when he got up to speed in 1v1 scenarios. He could finish at the rim or kick out to a teammate if he did not have the look he wanted. He was capable of shooting from deep as well. Miller also gave full effort on the defensive end and was flying around whenever the opportunity arose.
Highlights
Owen does lack size compared to opponents but he did not let that stop him from taking over then eventually winning the game for his team. The 5’7” 8th grader was lethal from beyond the arc all day, doing the majority of his damage in catch-and-shoot situations. He can get shots up in a flash and is very unpredictable when he has the ball in his hands. Counce won the game for D1 Minnesota with a deep buzzer-beating three-pointer that banked off the backboard to give his team the lead as time expired. This type of clutch moment easily made him the player of the game for me and he was a joy to watch from start to finish.
Bennett Skinner
Bennett Skinner
Bennett provided consistent scoring throughout the entire game versus Team Tyus and made the biggest play of the game with the score tied with a half-court game winner to beat the buzzer. This shot was ridiculous but he was a player that had stuck out to me earlier in the game as well. When Skinner is on the floor, you have to account for his shooting ability, or else he will make you pay. He is comfortable shooting from a couple feet beyond the three-point line and is not afraid to pull-up even if there is a defender closing out or giving a weak contest. The East Ridge freshman can get shots up very quickly and was one of the best snipers I saw all day.
Louvens Saint Pierre
Louvens Saint Pierre
Louvens was a player that was very hard to stay in front of on Saturday and was an offensive weapon in the action I saw. The Florida native is super quick with the ball in his hands and impressed me with the way he can change direction in a split second. He utilized these skills to blow by his defender then get inside where he could finish himself or pass out to a teammate for an even better look. Saint Pierre was also capable of stepping out and knocking down shots from the perimeter, either off the catch or creating for himself off the dribble.

Blake contributed to an incredibly deep PJ Hoops team in a big way on Saturday. The 8th grade wing also has a pretty good frame for his age, but did most of his scoring damage from the perimeter. He made a really pretty jab step move into a pull-up mid-range jumper and connected with a catch-and-shoot three as well, being an option moving without the ball or creating for himself. Along with that, he also chased down a missed transition layup for an easy putback layup. This PJ Hoops team meshes very well with each other and they have turned a lot of heads with their 3-0 record thus far.
