That was certainly true during the first live evaluation period with Division I coaches out and about to begin their spring recruiting efforts. Let’s take a quick look from border to border and highlight how our Hoosier state representatives on the EYBL, 3SSB, and UAA Circuits faired during their respective first sessions.
EYBL
Indy Heat 17u: 1-3
Purdue commit Kanon Catchings Kanon Catchings 6'8" | PF Overtime Elite (GA) | 2024 #31 Nation GA (Brownsburg H.S. 2024) led Indy Heat 17u in scoring last weekend averaging 12.5 points per game while also averaging 5.5 rebounds. The 6’7″ wing didn’t shoot it great, going just 6-19 from three-point range but still showed his versatile scoring ability against some of the best competition in the country. Meanwhile, 6’6″ 5-star point guard Jalen Haralson Jalen Haralson 6'7" | PG La Lumiere | 2025 #8 Nation IN (Fishers H.S. 2025) more than held his own while playing up a year. He averaged 11.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game while turning it over just seven in four games.
Indy Heat 16u: 1-3
Indy Heat 15u: 2-3
This 15u squad with some of the top prospects in Indiana’s Class of 2026. DeZhon Hall (Tindley H.S. 2026) averaged 11.6 points per game over the weekend while Julien Smith Julien Smith 5'10" | PG Mount Vernon (Fortville) | 2026 State IN (Mount Vernon Fortville H.S. 2026), Brennan Miller Brennan Miller 6'7" | PF Lawrence North | 2026 State IN (Lawrence North H.S. 2026), and Braylen Langley Braylen Langley 6'9" | SG Evansville Reitz | 2026 State IN (Evansville Reitz H.S. 2026) all stood out as well.
3SSB
Indiana Elite 17u: 3-1
5-star big man Flory Bidunga Flory Bidunga 6'9" | C Kokomo | 2024 State #7 Nation IN (Kokomo H.S. 2024) was his typical dominant self during the 3SSB Chapter I event in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The 6’9″ center dominated in a pair of wins on Saturday averaging 20 points and 6.5 blocks per game. He had dozens of high-major Division I head coaches out to follow him over the weekend.
Indiana Elite 16u: 4-0
A pair of Top 5 sophomores in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2025 stood out during Indiana Elite 16u’s perfect 4-0 weekend. Both Braylon Mullins Braylon Mullins 6'6" | SG Greenfield-Central | 2025 State #123 Nation IN (Greenfield-Central H.S. 2025) and Dezmon Briscoe Dezmon Briscoe 6'9" | PF Crispus Attucks | 2025 State #107 Nation IN (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2025) were good enough to add scholarship offers from Indiana State on Monday. These two are likely to add several more schools to their list in the coming weeks.
Indiana Elite 15u: 4-0
UAA
Grand Park Premier 17u: 1-4
It was a tough weekend out in Phoenix for this Grand Park Premier 17u squad, but they will look to bounce back this weekend with a trip to Rock Hill, South Carolina. Purdue commit Jack Benter Jack Benter 6'4" | SG Brownstown Central | 2024 State #121 Nation IN (Brownstown Central H.S. 2024) is the primary draw for this squad, but some other uncommitted guys like Tyler Parrish Tyler Parrish 6'3" | SG Chesterton | 2024 State IN (Chesterton H.S. 2024), Justin Sims Justin Sims 6'6" | PF Chesterton | 2024 State IN (Chesterton H.S. 2024), and Wyatt Zellers (Scottsburg H.S. 2024) will draw attention from college coaches during this second live period coming up.
Grand Park Premier 16u: 2-3
A two-point loss and a four-point loss came between this group and a very, very good trip to Phoenix.
Grand Park Premier 15u: 3-1
This 15u Grand Park Premier squad dominated in their three wins and came up just three points short of the Mountain Stars on Saturday morning to drop their only game of the weekend. Treigh Schelsky Treigh Schelsky 6'0" | PG Parke Heritage | 2026 State IN (Parke Heritage H.S. 2026), Evan Harrell Evan Harrell 6'8" | PF Carmel | 2026 State IN (Carmel H.S. 2026), and Cody Evans Cody Evans 6'7" | SF Greencastle | 2026 State IN (Greencastle H.S. 2026) are among the impressive prospects leading this team heading into Session II in South Carolina.
