Expert Analysis
Kyler Staley | Prep Hoops Scout
While it was not the best of start for the 6’6 senior forward, Sims really poured on it the fourth quarter which is one of the main reasons Chesterton was able to advance. Fought a few injuries which led to some poor plays in this game but once he settled into the game, his athletic ability was too much for Lawrence Central. He was making flashy plays around the rim including a monster baseline slam that had the whole goal shaking. When his motor is on, he can be such a tough player to stop, but a consistent motor will always be the question. He finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, & 4 blocked shots.

Potential, potential, potential. Sims had a strong summer with Indiana Game on the UA Rise Circuit proving himself against some good competition. The 6’6″ forward earned Indiana Junior All-Star honors last season at Chesterton and has tremendous upside. He is athletic, has some good strength, and displays a versatile skill set offensively. His rebounding ability stands out on both ends of the court and he can play above the rim when attacking closeouts or operating from the elbows/short corners.
