Continue ReadingDavis has quickly become one of my favorite players in the 2024 class to watch, and he showed why throughout their game on Saturday. A 6-4 wing who impacts the game on both ends of the floor with his length, size, and IQ, he positions himself well on the defensive end and uses his long arms to get into passing lanes and turn defense into offense. On the offensive end of the floor, he’s a capable perimeter shooting threat both off the dribble and the catch, and he sees the floor really well. He handles it and passes it well, getting others involved and never forcing anything.
Highlights
A 6-3 wing who can impact the game on both ends with his combination of length and athleticism, Jackson is at his best offensively when he’s playing downhill and using his long strides to get by defenders and to the rim for buckets. He runs the floor hard, is a switchable, versatile defender, and finishes effectively around the rim with either hand.
Reid continues to get bigger, stronger, more athletic, and develop his all-around game. He competes hard on the glass on both ends of the floor and uses his length effectively defensively, getting into passing lanes and contesting shots. Offensively, he has really improved, turning himself from a catch-and-shoot specialist into an all-around weapon. His catch-and-shoot game is still at a high level, with a high release and smooth stroke, but he has really improved his ball handling and ability to create shots for himself and his teammates. He covers a lot of ground on both ends of the floor with his long strides.
A quick combo guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands, Hagans offers a little bit of everything on the offensive end. He can be a pass-first guard who puts pressure on opposing defenses with his ability to get into the paint and find open shooters. He can knock down shots off the dribble or the catch, and he has shown that he can be effective in both the pick-and-roll and in isolation settings as a scorer and facilitator.
A quick-twitch, athletic guard who plays with great pace, Terrell uses his speed to his advantage on both ends of the floor. He has a tight handle and is able to get to the rim pretty routinely, where he has really improved as a finisher, getting stronger and more confident in his ability to finish through contact. He keeps defenders off balance with his change of speed and direction, and defensively he has quick hands and feet.
Highlights
A big lefty who is starting to put it together on the offensive end, Gott showed an impressive face-up game throughout the game that I caught, stepping out to about 15 feet and comfortably knocking down jumpers. He’s a good shot blocker with great timing who rotates well, and he’s athletic enough to defend on the perimeter for stretches if he’s switched onto a smaller ball handler. He’s good on post touches when he’s going to his left hand, with the right hand still a work in progress. His mobility and shot blocking make him an intriguing prospect at the next level.
Highlights
Gatewood is a good athlete on the perimeter who can put the ball on the floor and create looks for himself and his teammates. He finishes well through contact around the rim, rebounds on both ends of the floor, and is a solid all-around defender who will move his feet and contest shots.
Highlights
A big, physical and athletic wing who can defend multiple positions, Blakey is a fairly raw player, but there are a lot of tools in the toolbox here. He has good size and athleticism, and he uses his physical frame to compete on the glass as well as power through contact around the rim. He’ll need to continue to extend his range, but he makes an impact on both ends of the floor, doing a little bit of everything.
Martin is a skilled scorer and playmaker who showcased impressive court vision and passing instincts throughout the game that we caught, threading the needle on a few pretty passes for easy buckets for his teammates. He’s a knockdown shooter off the catch who moves well without the ball in his hands, and he has good body control and finishing ability around the rim through contact.

But it’s good to see him back on the floor after missing his entire junior year recovering from a torn ACL.
