Now, let's get to a handful of highly-ranked guards from the 2023 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1821230' first='Ne'Quan' last='Brown'] | Beauchamp Elite 3SSB

Brown is a high-level scorer with the size to go at defenses inside, the moves to work from the mid-range, and the long-range shot to keep defenses honest and stretched out. He has the body for a D-1 backcourt and showed great progress last season in developing as a more complete scorer. There is still a lot of upside here with a solid foundation for continued growth at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1086779' first='Semaj' last='Brown'] | Seattle Rotary

Brown has been a winning player at the high school level and is a player who understands how to fill different roles in order to help his team reach the highest levels. He has that high-level athleticism that allows him to defend multiple positions, and play offensively from the perimeter or help out inside. He seems to play with no ego and works hard in every aspect of the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='923120' first='Cayden' last='McDaniel'] | Rotary Rebels EYBL

One of the top guards in his class, McDaniel looks to be in great form, scoring, facilitating, and using his combination of awareness and athleticism to demonstrate his "takeover" ability. He is a point guard that can attack defenses equally well with the pass and the shot and just has that "it" factor in terms of recognizing and anticipating opportunities on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='923111' first='Miles' last='Gurske'] | FOH Seattle

Gurske is a tough guard with elite finishing skills at the rim. That threat of getting to the rim opens up room to stop short for the floater or get creative with dump-offs and kick outs. It's easy to see how much he cares out there and he is a relentless competitor that continues to show the desire to improve.

[player_tooltip player_id='1416700' first='KeVaughn' last='Harvey'] | FOH Seattle

Harvey came over to Gig Harbor for the high school season and showed an ability to shift roles, grind it out on defense, and buy in to a winning mentality. He brings it on both ends, can hit the tough shots at the rim and from the mid-range, and was a reliable secondary/third scorer for the Tides.

[player_tooltip player_id='1270843' first='Grant' last='Kepley'] | FOH Seattle

The senior guard has a great skill set to fill the combo guard role. First off, I think his handle is underrated. He's not going to blow you away with his quickness but he shows toughness with the ball and pairs the herky-jerky handle with good footwork to get an edge on defenders. He also has a smooth jumper that doesn't need a ton of room to get up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1270689' first='Tyler' last='Sipma'] | FOH Seattle

Sipma is another guy who was a winner all throughout high school. He won the last two 1A state championships as starting point guard for the Lyncs and has played alongside multiple D-1 players at FOH. He won't blow you away with his play but is solid in just about every way. He doesn't turn it over, plays solid on-ball defense, and can space the floor from 3-point.

[player_tooltip player_id='1436196' first='Myles' last='Daymon'] | FOH Seattle

Daymon was a force for the 3A champs this past season, attacking ballhandlers on defense, and setting the pace on offense. He's a super athlete that breaks defenders down with the ball, can stroke it from outside, and is an unrelenting attacker from the jump to the final whistle.

Trey Bullock | EBC Elite

The all-league guard is another superb defender that brings a combination of strength and shooting to the guard spot. He's capable of playing either guard and really has a strong base that keeps him controlled as a ballhandler and ready as a shooter. He was a nearly 40-percent shooter from 3-point during the high school season and averaged just under 16 points per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1416693' first='Quincy' last='Linton'] | EBC Elite

Linton wasn't the most heralded recruit on his O'Dea squad filled with long bodies and high-potential players. But, he was a key part of their second-place finish at the 3A tournament this past season and helped set the tone for a tough-minded defensive team. He has good strength and quickness that leads to strong finishing at the rim and a harassing style of defense. He's got the big game genes and doesn't back down on the court.
