Devin Record | Prep Hoops Scout
Grant is a great floor general who likes the ball in his hands. He attack the ball nicely, using his body to his advantage to get to the rim. He can shoot the ball really well and knows how to find his spots on the court. He has a great knowledge of the game and it translates to the court as he always knows his next move.

Grant is the last of the 3 headed trio for the Sehome Mariners. Grant expands the floor well when he’s on the court. He can handle the ball, play from the wing, or work from the post as well. He hits the 3 well but is best when he attacks the bucket and gets to the free throw line. He plays with a ton of energy on defense, leading to many turnovers. He’s a fun player to watch on the court.

Grant had a solid season last year, earning an all conference nod. He plays patient and smooth. He facilitates the offense well, finding his open teammates easily. His shot is outstanding from deep, from mid-range, and he attacks the bucket nicely, being able to score at all 3 levels effectively. He is a player to watch for conference MVP, as I think he will put up big numbers.

Kepley is the type of player who can fill multiple roles, shift around to different positions, all based on what the team needs. He can score the rock and has a nice mid-range game as well as finishing at the hoop. He can run point and facilitate to teammates and plays versatile defense. At 6’5, he brings a lot to the table with unselfish aggression and a strong feel for the game. The Mariners only lose one varsity player from last year and with Kepley at the helm, Sehome can make a push for a District Title and more.

He’s got good size for a guard. He’s excellent at shooting it off the dribble, going either direction. That, along with his ability to get all the way to the basket and finish are his best assets and he does both really well. He’ll make threes but he’s got a really nice looking jumper off the bounce, which is probably his biggest weapon with his size, it’s tough to stop. Especially since he has a step back to go with it. He can get to the rim using a couple dribbles and he finishes well with either hand. The Sehome backcourt has a lot of size and versatility.

This Sehome HS senior had a great summer and showed improvements from what I saw. Kepley is a team first player, as he’s not afraid to let his teammates takeover and score the ball. Grant is patient with the ball, letting the game come to him. His deep shot shouldn’t be overlooked, he can shoot just as good as anyone in the NWC. He will likely be the facilitator for this Mariners team who is returning almost every role player and added a Western Washington Men’s Basketball coaching legend in Brad Jackson.

Grant was first team all NWC last year, one of only 3 non seniors to be on the first team. He’s extremely patient on the court and lets the game come to him. He’s always including his teammates, especially since his surrounding cast is very talented. Kepley has a great shot from long range, as well as the mid range. He works well off the pick and roll and attacks the rim with authority. He’s poised for a great senior year as Sehome looks to make a deep run.

Grant was the final non senior to make the all NWC first team last season. Kepley had a fantastic year all around last year, proving he was one of the best within the conference. He has very good size for a guard, especially in the NWC. He has a beautiful lefty shot and his deep shot is very efficient so defenders can’t say on him. He can also attack the paint with authority, keeping his dribble extremely well. With Sehome hiring Western Washington coaching legend Brad Jackson, Kepley will benefit from the incredible basketball mind of Jackson. Sehome also has an overall very talented team, so teams won’t be able to focus on just Kepley this next season.
