Max Frazier Max Frazier 6’8″ | C Northwood | 2023 State NC hit the ground running for Northwood High and never looked back in his senior season, showing off his growth and development as a presence around the rim. He finished 2022-23 putting up 8.3 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 2.9 apg and 1.0 bpg, showing off his underrated ability to protect the paint and act as a distributor with the ball in his hands given the attention he draws down low. As he shows off his ability to be a consistent force in the paint, he’ll be a name for colleges at the DI and DII level to get eyes on.
Highlights
Jaydin Spillman Jaydin Spillman 6’9″ | C Calvary Day | 2023 State NC is a versatile name that’s still on the board out of Calvary Day School in the 336 area. He’s a 6-foot-9 prospect that can operate on the wing and inside the paint on both ends of the floor given his length and activity. He put up 13.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg and 1.6 bpg while shooting 51 percent from the field and 36 percent from 3-point land as an inside-out threat. He’s an unsigned name to keep an eye on with NC Rise Hudnall on the grassroots stage this cycle.
Highlights
Donovan Raymond Donovan Raymond 6’9″ | C West Charlotte | 2023 State NC is quite the big man prospect to get to know out of West Charlotte High, given his production, especially on the rebounding and rim-protection front. He produced 11.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 2.7 bpg on 65 percent shooting from the field in 2022-23. He’s a true back-to-the-basket threat with potential to bolster a frontcourt in the near future given his size and pedigree. DII coaches would be wise to get eyes on him.
Kenan Parrish Kenan Parrish 6’9″ | C Northwood | 2023 State NC is another big man at Northwood High that turned a corner in 2022-23 in the frontcourt. He showed off his development around the rim/painted area as a shot-blocker and finisher when given opportunities. He finished his senior season with 9.3 ppg and 5.1 rpg on 60 percent shooting from the field. He showed solid hands around the rim and proved to be a solid post presence for the Chargers as they made a run in this year’s NCHSAA 3A State Final. He’s a name for DII and DIII programs to get to know that’s still on the board.
Beckham Tharpe Beckham Tharpe 6’8″ | C North Iredell | 2023 State NC is a wiry, versatile 6-foot-8 forward that’s still on the board after making waves with North Iredell High this past season. He’s an athletic forward that flies around and plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor. He even set a school-record with a 50-point performance against Foard High, a game where also snagged 21 rebounds, blocked three shots and had four assists. He’s a competitive force that does whatever his team needs of him to secure victory. He’s a name for DII and DIII programs in the region to get to know.
