With that in mind, a lot of these players already had a tremendously promising season this year and will only look to build on that. Here are my five underrated point guards for the 2025 class.
Altobelli is a threat to steal the ball every single possession at the point guard position making opposing players’ life difficult on the offensive end. He is a great finisher at the rim with both hands while also drawing a lot of fouls for more free-throw opportunities. Altobelli makes slick crafty passes to catch the defense off guard to spot up open shooters. Once he develops a consistent jump shot he will no doubt be a complete point guard with unlimited potential heading into next season.
Kreitz is more of a scoring point guard than a playmaker but that isn’t to say that he can’t be playmaker when he does. He has deep range from behind the arc with a nice sweet release that is just automatic every time the ball leaves his hands. His defense is good and moves his feet well giving him the potential to be a nice two-way point guard in the future. However, Kreitz should look to be a playmaker more for his teammates because it will only help elevate his game to the next level.

Colao is a point guard just waiting to break out gushing with so much talent already during his sophomore season. He is an excellent playmaker with great vision setting up his teammates for many open-shot opportunities. His tight handles allow him to get anywhere on the court. Colao can shoot the three ball either off the dribble or in the catch-and-shoot situation. His finishing ability at the rim is strong which allows him to force the referee to blow the whistle sending Colao to the line multiple times a game.
Highlights
Krey has a bunch of skills already with one being a defensive threat locking down and stripping the ball away from opposing ball handlers regularly. A floor general at heart Krey makes quick and smart decisions with the basketball forcing to keep the defense on its heels every possession. He has a fast release with unlimited range that requires little space to get off. Krey has a consistent pull-up game from both the midrange and three-point line while having crafty moves around the rim. He is just an overall point guard and will only continue to get better.
Nicholson is a lefty with such a beautiful-looking shot from downtown it almost seems like the perfect release. He never stops running around as he likes to come off of off-ball screens a lot to get open shots from the midrange and three-point area. His finishing ability at the rim is already awe-inspiring as he can score with both hands with little to no problem. Nicholson will strip the ball away if you dare try to take him off the dribble. Also, his quick crossover allows him to get a multitude of looks on the offensive end or set up teammates for open shots.
