Deron Rippey Jr., 6’0 Blair Academy
Rippey Jr. is the top lead guard in the first 2026 rankings as he can impact the game in a number of ways. The 6’0 guard attacks the basket strong as he knows how to get to the basket and can finish through contact around the rim. Rippey Jr. rises up with confidence on his jumper and has the ability to play off the ball. He makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and moves his feet on the defensive end. Rippey Jr. is a talented point guard prospect who should continue to grow as a player throughout his varsity career.
Richie Rosa Richie Rosa 6'0" | PG St. Peter's Prep | 2026 State NJ , 6’1 St. Peter’s Prep
Rosa had a strong debut season for the Marauders and will be one to watch in Hudson County throughout his varsity career. The 6’1 guard has a nice handle, which he uses to blow by his defender and knows how to finish around the basket. Rosa can also finish in the mid-range and has a good release on his jumper. He knows how to get his teammates involved in the offense and gets deflections on the defensive end. Rosa is a tough lead guard prospect who makes plays with the ball in his hands.
Jalen Grant Jalen Grant 6'0" | PG Roselle Catholic | 2026 State NJ , 6’0 Roselle Catholic
Grant played solid minutes for the Lions during their Non-Public B title season and should get more minutes in 2023-24. The 6’0 guard has a smooth shooting stroke and sets his feet before he shoots. Grant has the ability to play off the ball and is a solid finisher around the basket. He has a good handle and is an underrated on-ball defender. Grant’s ability to knock down triples and play good defense makes him an intriguing prospect to watch in the 2026 class.
Jayden Holman Jayden Holman 6'1" | PG Arts | 2026 State NJ , 5’11 Arts
Holman is a lead guard prospect to watch in Essex County as he will have the ball in his hands more this season. The 5’11 point guard has a tight handle, which he uses to get to the rim and finish around the basket. Holman plays under control with ball in his hands and rarely makes bad decisions. He is a strong rebounder for a guard and uses his length to make plays on the defensive end . Holman is a talented lead guard prospect who should only get better as his career progresses.
Torrey Brooks Torrey Brooks 5'11" | PG Neumann-Goretti | 2026 State PA , 5’6 League Bound Academy
Brooks is dynamic with the ball in his hands, which he put on full display this season. The 5’6 guard has a good handle and a lightning quick first step, which he uses to get into the paint and make plays. Brooks is a crafty finisher around the rim and plays with great floor vision in the half court. He has a good release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Brooks is a play-making point guard prospect who knows how to score the ball at all levels.
