I will be previewing each classification, you can read the 1A teams here : https://prephoops.com/2023/02/top-ranked-1a-teams-as-we-enter-post-season-play/ . Here are some 2A teams to watch for.
Pullman 17-0 (7-0 league)
Pullman is definitely one of the top teams in the entire state. They have yet to lose a game this season and with 3 games left on their schedule, they could very much finish the year with no losses. That is some amazing momentum to bring into post-season play. They are another team that hasn’t been tested too much, with most of their wins being 10 or more. With one of the best shooters in the state on the team with Jaedyn Brown Jaedyn Brown 6'3" | CG Pullman | 2023 State WA , that will help them late in the year. Brown has the ability to take over the game and go on scoring run by himself. It helps having a talented big man alongside him in Dane Sykes Dane Sykes 6'7" | SF Pullman | 2023 State WA , who stretches the floor very nicely for Pullman.
Lynden 17-2 (13-1 league)
Lynden is the defending state champs and they also the player who won the state tournament MVP last year back with them again. Anthony Canales Anthony Canales 6'4" | SG Lynden | 2024 State WA is a D1 caliber player who can take over any game. He gets to his spots very effectively, having a smooth pull up jumper. He can score at all 3 levels and holds his own on the defensive side. Coston Parcher Coston Parcher 6'0" | PG Lynden | 2023 State WA is a solid point guard who finds his teammates nicely and can get hot from long range. They have some big time non-league game wins against Mountlake Terrace, Grandview, Prosser, and North Kitsap. They did lose a close one to Gig Harbor as well. In league play, which is very tough, they have held their own. They lost to a very talented Sehome team but have defeated teams like Anacortes and Blaine with a matchup against cross-town rival 1A Lynden Christian looming in the coming days.
Sehome 15-3 (12-2 league)
Sehome is a team that has arguably the best “big 3” in the entire 2A classification. They are led by seniors Mat Storms, Grey Garrison Grey Garrison 6'5" | PF Sehome | 2023 State WA , and Grant Kepley Grant Kepley 6'4" | CG North Creek | 2023 State WA . All 3 contribute in different, effective ways. Kepley is the point guard of the team. He likes to have the ball in his hands and controls the pace of the game fantastically. He works well off Garrison, especially off the pick and roll. Garrison rolls hard and catches a lot of passes thrown up towards him thanks to his 6’7″ frame. Storms is a lefty who attacks the rim hard every time. He is able to stop on a dime to pull up for the mid range shot, or he will meet you at the rim and try to go up for a slam. They have big wins over Arlington, Grandview, Lynden Christian, and Lynden. The big 22 point win against Lynden, was the Lions first 20+ point home loss in over 10 years. The Mariners have all the talent to go all the way.
Mark Morris 18-1 (14-0 league)
Mark Morris is a team that has a duo that could be the best in the class. Senior Kobe Parlin Kobe Parlin 6'1" | CG Mark Morris | 2023 State WA and junior Braydon Olson Braydon Olson 6'2" | CG Mark Morris | 2024 State WA are both unbelievable athletes. Both bring so much to the table for this team, it makes an outstanding combination. They have other key role players such as Deacon Dietz Deacon Dietz 6'3" | SG Mark Morris | 2023 State WA who also contribute to the team. They beat Mountlake Terrace, Selah, Brewster, and Kelso in non-league games but lost a close one to Jackson, that being their only loss. They played a great game against league rival RA Long beating them by 9 points. They have another matchup looming for the last regular season game for both teams.
Anacortes 16-2 (12-1 league)
Anacortes is a team that intrigued me from the very beginning of the year. I watched them quite a bit over the summer and they are such a well coaches group. They play for each other on the court, which leads to un-selfish passes and good team basketball. They were without top 2025 player Davis Fogle Davis Fogle 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2025 #105 Nation AZ during that time as well, which is why they intrigued me so much. With a D1 caliber player added to that rotation, it took everything to a whole new level. Fogle can score from anywhere on the court and creates his shot so well, one of the best in the state at doing so. He is so lengthy so his crossover really extended far which causes defenders to reach, allowing Davis fly by. They have defeated Sehome and Lynden Christian, both top teams within their classes. They have a non-league loss to Lake Stevens, which was lost by just one point. Their only league loss came at the hands of defending 2A state champion, Lynden. With Fogle, the Seahawks are always a team to watch for.
