Expert Analysis

Lynden is always a top team in the 2A classification and having won back ton back state titles, they are likely a big favorite going into postseason play. Anthony finds his spots so smoothly. He knows where he can efficiently hit shots and is just lights out from mid-range. His 6’4″ length helps him get by defenders on the drive and finish at a high level. He’s won back to back state tournament MVP’s and is a top 3 scoring leader in the history of Lynden basketball, just that alone shows how important he is to this team.

This guy’s an all-around force who has helped keep Lynden at the top of the 2A the past two seasons. He’s long, athletic, makes defensive plays and can take over the offense particularly with his ability to get to the rim and knock down shots in the mid-range. He’ll be one of the top two-way players in the 2A again this season.

How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?
-Our team had our ups and downs throughout the season, especially near the end of the regular season when we went into a slump. I think I performed good, to the point where my teammates could trust me to make a play and I could trust them.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?
-Our biggest obstacle was losing to Sehome at districts and not knowing if we’d make it to state or not, but it also helped us in the long run.
What do you think you improved most on the court?
-I think I improved on becoming a leader, being mentally tough and trusting my teammates the most.
What are you looking to improve before next season?
-I’m looking on building on leadership, my 3 point shot , and guard skills. I am also looking to improve my strength, and out on weight.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?
-Some teammates that I think will breakout next year is
Brant Heppner

and Brady Elsner. Brant will definitely be huge for us taking a bigger role in every part of the game but I think he is up for the task as he is one of the hardest workers I know and is a confident guy. Jack will be a 6’6 Junior and has all the potential in the world to be an all league guy if he puts his mind to it, he is a stretch big that will hit shots, rebound and block shots for us. Brady is filling in for Bubba so it is big shoes to fill, but Brady is a guy who works on his game every day and I think he’ll be a great defender, scorer and playmaker for us, he is a guy who never gives up on a play.-All my teammates stood out to me, with their constant hard work and dedication to our team that we built a real family by the end of the year. But to name a few guys who really stood out was

, and Bubba Parcher. Kobe was ready at the biggest moments and always made the right play. His defensive tenacity, turned into motivation on the offensive end for us. Bubba was just a killer for us all season, hitting big shots, playing great defense, and overall just a great leader for us.
