Bishop Ready continues to find ways to win and after a gritty conference victory over Saint Charles to secure the conference crown, the Silver Knights got another impressive win over another Division II contender. Schaffer and Charlie Russell Charlie Russell 6’5″ | PF Bishop Ready | 2023 State OH were both huge as both had buzzer-beater 3-pointers in the first half. Schaffer also punished switches in the post and scored with his back to the basket. Schaffer also had a put-back tip shot in traffic that impressed me. Bishop Ready gets excellent shots and moves the ball across their trio of senior studs. Their experience and ability to not turn the ball over are major factors on why they remain unbeaten with only a few games left to play.
Highlights
Laukhuf was the top performer of the day, scoring 30+ points and single handedly keeping his team in the game. His first 12 points came from behind the 3-point line. I was also impressed with some of his dribble moves with the ball in his hands, making some tough mid-range shots off isolation moves. With his size, skill and shooting ability, Laukhuf will have no issue getting scholarship offers from Division II and NAIA programs this summer.
Norris was on a 24-hour tear, scoring 29 points against Olentangy Liberty on Friday night then scoring his 1,000th career point in a victory over Lima Senior on Saturday evening. Norris is shooting the ball at a much higher level from the outside than I saw earlier in the year, and he continues to make toughness plays that help his team win. Norris also scored with his back to the basket, punishing smaller and younger defenders with his strength and composure in the post. Norris has had a great end to his junior season, once again looking like one of the top players in central Ohio.
Perry was the only form of offense for the Thunderhawks early on Saturday, getting where he needed to score in the lane with layups and floaters. Perry is one of the toughest players in the 2025 class and has been one of the most productive guards in the GMC as just a sophomore. Limiting turnovers will be a big step for Perry to try and focus on as an upperclassman, once the offense fully runs through him.
White was quiet early, making a couple smart passes and kick outs to shooters in the first half. Ottawa Glandorf was struggling offensively, and White came out of the locker room at halftime on a mission. White scored off a couple cuts in the half court then brought the packed house to their feet with a touchdown catch from baseline to halfcourt where he slammed it home to give OG the lead. White then continued to produce, scoring an impressive reverse layup as the Titans started to take control late in the contest.
