Continue ReadingDpac’s leading scorer for the season was tremendous. Did it on both ends of the floor. His quick hands forced turnovers, and his blinding speed converted in transition. Showed that he can stretch out his shooting as the mid range sniper hit threes coming off screens.
Highlights
He does a little bit of everything for the team. The sophomore provided interior defense, using his length to make it tough for the West Wendover guards to finish in the lane. Rayford was the benificianary of a lot of terrific passes, allowing him to finish point blank shots around the rim.
He’s a problem, and he showed why today. His combination of speed, strength, and skill overwhelmed West Wendover. When he was at the top of Dpac’s full court pressure or zone defense he used his length to get tips and deflections. His athletic ability in transition allowed him to finish with ease, and I came away impressed by the way he passed the ball, showing good vision and accuracy on his dimes.
Carlos was a young player that I’m happy to get on my radar. Despite a tough loss to Democracy Prep, he flashed some talent. The sophomore showed a good motor, competing despite the score. He got tough in traffic rebounds scoring on some putbacks and making a handful of in the paint finishes.
Been watching Bevacqua since he was in 7th grade, he brought out all his old tricks today, including his patent head fake, slick handle and clutch shooting. The senior guard was a steady hand for the defending state champs finishing with 13 points and a handful of assists.
I was really impressed with Casini. This was my first time getting a look at the incline senior forward and I was impressed by his motor, size and skill. He played hard, grabbing some tough interior rebounds, and also showed good skill, finishing drives as well as stepping out to hit an occasional three. He finished with 11 points in the game.
I was excited to finally get to lay eyes on Williams. The first thing that stood out at me was his shiftyness. He has a strong handle, and showed that he can defeat opponents off the bounce. He was at his best when playing downhill, driving to his right. He finished with 11 points in the game.
Suprise, suprise, Toby was at it again. The ultimate Pit bull defender, he showed off his skill today, scoring off drives, and hitting outside shots. He brings it every night so his effort was no suprise in an elimination game however, it was his scoring productivity that stood out as he led all scorers with 17 points.
A new candidate for my all sniper team the senior guard showed off one of the quickest releases I’ve seen this year. He was deadly from behind the arc finishing with a team high 14 points.
