On Tuesday night I was at #19 Northland as they hosted and lost to #20 Reynoldsburg 59-58. Then on Friday, I went out to #13 St. Francis DeSales as the hosted and also lost to #17 Grove City 67-43.
This kid is outright special. Plan and simple he is special. He started the game passively but in the second quarter he started to attack and shoot the ball more and the rhythm he got into was special. You have probably seen it on Twitter at this point but Kendrick truly does shoot with either hand. It’s as impressive as it sounds. It’s absurd. Kendrick is only 5’10 and isn’t the biggest or most athletic kid on the court but he can score however and whenever he wants no matter who is guarding him. He understands attacking angles and being balanced so well. He never gets bumped off his line to the basket. Has great touch around the rim and in the lane. He can kill you if you leave him open from deep. He has great timing on his pull-ups. If he was left in a 1 on 1 situation he was scoring every time. Kendrick was making the game look easy on Tuesday night. He wasn’t fazed at all in his first playoff game. His confidence is through the roof. He was the best player in the gym and he knew it.
Skill is in no doubt for Fisher. He is an incredibly skilled player that can score from all three levels of the floor. He is very long with good athleticism to go along with it. His jumper is super pure. The ball barely hits the rim when he makes it. His shot is high arching. With his wingspan and height alone he doesn’t need much space to get his shot off. His handles are very tight so even though he doesn’t need much space he still gets it. He is an incredible finisher. He has great spin and touches on the ball around the rim.
Highlights
Noles has physically taken a giant leap forward. He has not only gained height and weight but he has gained a ton of athleticism. He moves way quicker as well. This gained muscle has given him a ton of confidence. He attacks the rim harder and more aggressively. His leaping ability makes it easier for him. He had multiple tough and-1s. His jumper is also smooth as butter. He is a sniper but I wish he shot it more. It went every time he did. The ball was also barely hitting the rim when it was going in. Very nice player.
Highlights
I first saw Bowens play a couple of weeks ago and was super impressed but fisher wasn’t playing so I saw him in the go-to scorer role. On Tuesday Bowens was the second option and because of this, he focused his energy elsewhere. He played incredibly in those roles. He got multiple tough rebounds and got much second chance points for Reynoldsburg. He did this in a ton of traffic. He was great defensively and altered or blocked a ton of shots. This showed great maturity for Bowens to be willing to take a back seat in scoring and do what the team needed to win the game. Impressive for a highly talented freshman.
