<p>-A much-anticipated meeting between Class 4A top-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy and 3A No. 4 Cedar Rapids Xavier went down on 42nd Street at the Saints gymnasium. The visitors built a 15-point halftime lead and never looked back. </p>

<p>According to veteran Cedar Rapids Gazette reporter Jeff Johnson, the Cougars (20-0) are a non-conference win against Waterloo East (12-8) on Thursday from their first-ever unbeaten regular season. They completed the Mississippi Valley Conference campaign at 14-0. </p>

<p>Kennedy jumped out to a 17-9 lead after one quarter on Tuesday. It then outscored the Saints (14-6) 22-13 in quarter two. For the game, the winners shot 60.4 percent from the floor, which included making 9 of 18 attempts from three-point land. </p>
